The Country’s on Fire. What Can I Do to Reduce the Heat?

Red State

Welp, now it’s getting really interesting, America. “It,” of course, being the FBI raid on Donald and Melania Trump’s private residence at Mar-a-Lago. As reported by several sources on Sunday, the former president sent a private message to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday, prior to a Justice Department afternoon news conference. Grab the popcorn: The contents of that message have now been revealed. More

  1. With respect, President Trump, this isn’t about you any more. You are an avitar for normal America, but you can no more turn aside what must come any more than Rodney King could end national riots in his name by asking if we could all get along.

They came after you as a warning to us.

They’ve made it clear they will not tolerate ANY further delay in the Communist takeover.

They have loudly announced that we cannot live together.

Attacking you was a message to us.

And we refuse to go gently into that good night, whether you would have us do so or not.

So we respect you trying to calm things down Mr. President, and trying to prevent bloodshed in your name.

    But this isn’t about you.

It’s about whether we become their slaves and their corpses.

You can lead us, or not, but you cannot stand in our way.

Pontius Pilate publicly tried to wash his hands of innocent blood when he turned the most blameless among us over to wolves to appease a mob.

    Didn’t work.

That blood is there yet. Always will be.

Don’t be a Pilate, Mr. President.

It won’t be a good look for you, either.

  2. Clay and Buck discussed the passport issue earlier today… basically it is unheard of to grab passports until AFTER someone is charged with a crime. I don’t know the legalities of this, but from what I see neither does the DOJ! Meanwhile Hillary skates by with zip, zero, nada for doing worse! Quite frankly I think it should be a crime to willfully ignore crime!

    I disagree.

We all want a win up front. Nice and clean. No questions asked. But that’s not how it works.

Us mortals, initially, in an unsaved state, wonder why Christ didn’t save himself since He was God himself. Like the crucified thieves first asked of Him.

I am good with them – the evil ones – taking things to the hilt. It exposes them for who they are and people will take sides accordingly.

I mean, many people are just married to the evil side of life. Your arguments won’t really make any difference to them. Only people watching the argument will be swayed by it. Which is plenty fine.

Think about what you just said. The moment wasn’t won back then, but everyone reading/hearing about it ever since, is another group of people that many are saved because of it.

Trump’s troubles are everyone’s troubles with these communists forcing themselves on this country.

If you can’t see that, then you are part of the problem.

    I don’t think you’re quite getting the anology, and granted its not a great one, but its like this;

Pilate neither knew nor cared who or what Jesus was, but he knew the mod wanted him, and that the expedient way to quell the mob was to throw Christ to them. This is what he was referring to when he said “what is truth”, he meant HIS truth was always the politically convenient one and not any absolute truth. Because it was Christ, however, he could still feel shame for condemning a truly innocent man in exchange for quiet, so he ceremoniously washed his hands of the whole affair, thinking that this would transfer the innocent blood to the mob.

He was quite wrong as I’m sure was explained to him at the Judgement, but it did buy him a temporal peace in a tempestuous time.

And so I fear President Trump may be contemplating. Any man would be tiring of the ceaseless attacks of the Democrats that only mount in frequency and stridency, and the facile way his own party refuses to help surely weighs on him as well. It is possible that this is meant to be an appeasement to the Democrat mob but, with no Christ to serve up, perhaps His childen will do. No doubt you’ve heard much about January 6th blood on his hands, so he may be washing his hands of us that our tormenters and his may leave him alone and start persecuting us directly, with his tacit approval.

I simply caution that this didn’t work for Pilate, and it won’t work for him.

The point is not so much to compare us to Christ or to in any way criticize the gift Christ gave in that moment, but more to focus on the way a powerful politician of that time was willing to sell out even God Himself to quieten the mob.

And if a politician can sell out Jesus Himself, how much easier for one to sell out you and I?

Trump did great things, but he is still only a man, and the forces arrayed against him are relentless. He is a locus, what will come, will come, with or without him. He has a choice whether to lead us or be left behind, but he will never be able to deny us for what he set in motion by simply showing us that there IS a better way.

And whether he caves or not at this point, whether he calls for peace or not, doesn’t matter. He set the pieces in motion, for better or for worse, so now the game must be played out to the end.

I’m sure I’ve explained it badly, but I’m too tired to try again. If you still regard me as part of the problem for what was meant as commentary on a man and not on Christ, so be it.

    But again, President Trump needs to pick a side here. He can’t encourage his supporters one minute, then offer to help Pedo neuter them the next. He can have one or the other, but not both. He may be cautioned by this verse;

“15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”
    Revelation 3:15-16

    …it’s like that.

Everyone needs to pick a side.

    He is no exception.

  6. I respectfully disagree with SNS here. I think Trump is merely getting in front of the mob that will blame him for any violence done after the raid. Here he has it down in no uncertain terms that he is not advocating an insurrection. What he does behind the scenes can be a different matter. I just see it as a bit of insurance against the talking heads trying to pin more charges against him. It won’t matter to the rats, but at least an effort has been made.
