PM:
Tucker Carlson made a surprise appearance on Saturday to deliver a tribute at the funeral of Hells Angels biker gang founder Sonny Barger in California.
Carlson said what he learned from Barger, “Stand tall, stay loyal, remain free and always value honor. And I thought to myself if there is a phrase that sums up more perfectly what I want to be, what I aspire to be, and the kind of man I respect, I can’t think of a phrase that sums that up more perfectly than that,” Carlson added, “that came from Sonny Barger the famous outlaw biker.”
Mark Hemingway wrote, “This is the most Tucker thing ever.” MORE
An Iron Horseman saved my life once.
Don’t judge a man by his colors.
Made forensic maps of their properties. Made forensic map of the location of the dismembered bodies buried in clandestine graves. They do have a wonderful “Lobsterfest” though.
Sonny Barger, free at last …to stand before the White Throne and be judged. RIP.
Without the Hells Angels Harley Davidson would have been a splash in the pan.
They were founded as a criminal organization with maybe a few good apples. I will judge the whole lot as off limits.
Without the Hells Angels Harley Davidson would have been an oil stain on my garage floor.
Barger did straighten up as he got older, I’ll give him that.
Ballsy eulogy from Tucker.
Not too fookin’ awesome.
It’s often disputed that Barger was the actual founder of The Big Red Machine. Past president, yes. Founder? Questionable.
Met him once in the early 90’s, was polite….
Fact is, Sonny only started the Oakland chapter, and made them the criminal organization that they became; he didn’t start HA.
A lot of people get that wrong, but I’d expect Tucker to be more thorough in his research.
“The Hells Angels originated on March 17, 1948, in Fontana, California, when several small motorcycle clubs agreed to merge.[14] Otto Friedli, a World War II veteran, is credited with starting the club after breaking from the Pissed Off Bastards motorcycle club over a feud with a rival gang.”
NO WHERE in that article did Carlson say Barger was that ‘founder’ of HA.
actually, the ‘facts’ in the article are sketchy, at best …. A lot of ‘alluding’ going on
cakes – first sentence: Hells Angels biker gang founder Sonny Barger in California.
Hence my comment.
WWII fighter pilots after the war started the clubs some of which became the HA.
