Republicans Prepare to Betray Their Voters With Omnibus Monstrosity, and the Details Are Much Worse Than Imagined

RS-

Republicans in the US Senate are preparing to betray their voters again. Somehow, against all odds, the surrender caucus has managed to up its game, this time looking to hand Joe Biden his entire agenda for 2023 just days before the GOP officially takes control of the House.

Mitch McConnell and his cohorts are apparently so terrified of fighting back that they are willing to concede the power voters just gave their party. Democrats must be giddy at their luck, having an “opposition” that refuses to actually oppose them.

Now, the details of the coming gut punch have been released, and they are much worse than imagined. Don’t get me wrong, I knew this bill would be terrible, but this is next-level stuff.

NEW: Congress releases major spending bill with election reforms to prevent another Jan. 6

• $1.7 trillion government funding
• $44.9 billion Ukraine aid
• Electoral Count Act overhaul

They hope to pass it by Friday. https://t.co/VOKiyQD8ux

  1. The Omnibus gives a $400M increase to border patrol but prohibits it from being used to “acquire, maintain or extend border security tech and capabilities.”

At the same time, $410M goes to securing the borders of Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Oman

  2. That is why I question people who say “Trump was a good President but he was so divisive that he should retire gracefully.” They seem to forget that no matter who we elect who is worth electing will be seen as being just as divisive. The Republicans couldn’t even nominate closet Democrats such as McCain and Romney without having the Dems bring out the knives.

To paraphrase Groucho Marx, I wouldn’t want a Republican President that the Dems would accept.

  3. Mitch McCommunist ought to be picking up Dr Faucis’s bar of soap in a bathhouse prison

We are screwed, this Republican Congress isn’t going to do anything to slow down this train wreck, and for their so called investigation’s of the Biden’s forget about it, there is no justice 😩🤬

  4. Hay, cheer up! We’re going to be witness to a slew of investigations that will amount to nothing. It will keep the media occupied to a small degree and we can read and hear about the progress as they interpret it.

    Bread and circuses.

  5. First & foremost the government would shutdown can’t wait for next session of Congress. Next there is so much GOP infighting that nothing will pass till who knows when. But what really gets my Goat is if election reform passes how the “F” can I stage a coup or bring in my fake electors.

  6. January 6 was the day the music died for me. We do not live in a democratic republic, we live in an oligarchy with the window dressing of a republic. Probably have for many years, though Trump’s election shocked the hell out of the overlords, their reaction showed their dismay. They won’t allow such a thing to happen again.

So, spend whatever, print whatever, war on whomever, what difference, at this point, does it make?

  7. Betray Who? This is reality folks, government lives but the GOP or the Dems could DIE! Oh woe is/us/me is loserville! Fuck off! Oh but but my mental miget is getting hammered, that will be a Ahhhhhhhh. Prison time in his future! But it very well could just be LEAD in the head!

  8. $46 billion for Uke refugees.

  9. This discussion of DC politics is all beside the point when the US government and various others are actively encouraging and warmly welcoming millions of aliens every year to swarm into the country unvetted, unassimilated, uneducated, unemployable. To what purpose? For what ends?

  10. “Every nation has the government it deserves.”

If we allow ourselves to be enslaved we will live as slaves.
Seems obvious – but too many of us embrace slavery – particularly that muddle-headed, reasonably painless, narcotized form.

Attend indoctrination centers for 12, 13, 16, or 20 years and then get in stride with the goose-stepping sloganeers where dialogue is replaced by shouting slogans at one another.
