  2. “Shoot to stop” IS what cops traditionally have been trained to do. Not “kill”. Even a perp who has fatal injuries still may be able to get off lethal rounds.

    (I guess that know-nothings think that like, what, you can just shoot that fun out of the perp’s hand? or get him in the leg while he’s running away, and then all is good?)

    So I see these videos almost daily where multiple cops empty their 10 round mags into somebody’s “center mass”. That’s pretty much “shoot to kill”. I don’t think they are all forgetting their training.

  7. Do the cops regret if the perp lives? No. I am sure that they would prefer after they were “stopped” they didn’t die. But they are shooting for “maximum” “stoppage.”
    As Janitor says, this dummy is implying that cops either are, or should be, trained to shoot them in the legs. Uhhh. no.

  10. Police Officers are taught/traine3d to “shoot to stop” center mass. Happened to my brother when I had a month left in the academy. He was working in the 9th Pct in lower Manhattan. He and his partner walked in on a robbery at a bodega on Ave C in 1992.

    POS had a sawed-off shotgun; my brother shot all 6 out of his revolver. Sawed off dude caught one round, deflected off of a rib and straight thru his heart…dead, perps partner got hit 5x by my brother and twice more by my brothers’ partner totaling 7 rounds center mass, he lived and is shitting in a bag.

    I said to my brother “that’s fucked up that they paid him” his reply was perfect and a wakeup call…”I killed his POS friend, shot him 5x leaving him fucked for the rest of his life, cost the city $225k and got myself 8hrs OT.”

    the city drops this kind of money so they just shut up and go away.
