“Pocket Pets” May Have Been Live Fed to Arizona Snakes and Lizards

In August, the San Diego Humane Society transferred more than 300 pocket pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and mice to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona to alleviate San Diego’s overcrowded shelters.

Weeks later the San Diego Humane Society said they believed those pets were transferred to a reptile breeder who also sells live and frozen animals for food. More

  1. Not trying to offend anyone, but I fucking HATE snake and lizard people. I’ve known several in the past, and none of them would talk about things like how beautiful their reptiles were, or how perfectly they were adapted to survive in a particular environment, or how important they were in maintaining that environment’s natural balance. Every single one of them was like “hey, watch what happens when I put this furry little thing in its enclosure”, then stand there and grin like a drooling moron while they watch some poor little critter die a horrible terrifying agonizing death.
