Election Interferer Dan Rather Returns to the Scene of the Crime

It’s been nearly 20 years since Dan Rather stepped down as the anchor of CBS Evening News, in the wake of a reporting scandal that also led to the firing of his longtime producer. Now, the 92-year-old veteran is back, headed to the network’s CBS News Sunday Morning this weekend to promote the Rather documentary that’s coming to Netflix on May 1, per USA Today. After more than four decades with CBS, Rather’s troubles arose following a 60 Minutes II report that aired in 2004 regarding President George W. Bush’s National Guard record. For their report, Rather and his team leaned on documents they didn’t independently verify, leading to the “Rathergate” debacle that led to the newsman’s ouster, the removal of producer Mary Mapes, and three others.

The shithead still maintains he “told the truth.“

Rather told the Hollywood Reporter that “we reported a true story. We didn’t do it perfectly. We made some mistakes of getting to the truth. But that didn’t change the truth of what we reported.”

Drop dead. You tried to alter the course of an election from your considerable perch. You weren’t reporting; you were giddily advancing bullshit because you felt it would sink someone you didn’t want to become president. You would vetted, if not buried, any “story” that was unfavorable to “your guy.”

Rot in hell, and I say this as someone who never liked “Dubya.” You are not a “journalist.” -bfh

  2. Huh… I figured he joined Satan’s followers in the torture chambers…

    Unfortunately I voted for Dubya both times, and he seemed to be on-the-level with my common sense at the time. Likely to have been better than AlGore at any rate.

    I also ‘trusted’ the republican party and listened to Rushbo consistently. It wasn’t until after saw pictures of him with Obama & friends I realized we’ve all been duped.

    I despise being duped. To Hell with them all! To sacrifice the country to save yourself, as Johnson has just done (along with many others), deserves as much as Hell can dish out.

    And may the Lord be behind Trump! (And I have no doubt that He is)

  9. “What’s the frequency Kenneth.” Dan blather was a blathering blatherskite, who replaced “Uncle” Walter Cronkite on the See BS Evening Snooze in the early 80’s and I wonder why I even paid any attention to this blithering idiot back then. It must’ve been i was almost a braindead liberal idiot back then before I grew out of it.

  11. As election drew near, Rather did a long news piece presenting a park ranger in shadow because he feared for his life. Bush might ruin his family after all. The ranger told us that Bush had ruined a vast park by encouraging pollution and that the trees and wildlife were gone as Bush pushed chemicals on the area. Problem was that the park is a rocky furnace in far west Texas and only receives its weather from Mexico and California unless the earth reverses its spin. A lie , flat out, painting Bush as the worst eco beast on earth and capable of killing the ranger,,,Rather was an Hack, a propagandist and a Ferschluggener..
