That blue is magical.
Put it in a glass and you’ll see what I mean. Science or something.
That water he’s Kayaking in would certainly make your nipples hard in a hurry. Heck of an incentive to keep upright.
I noticed this when hiking up Mr. Rainer in the 70s. Didn’t go to the summit, but far enough to poke my walking stick into the snow on the lower glaciers. When you look down into the hole, it’s that beautiful blue.
Here is what I found to explain it on the usgs.gov site at https://www.usgs.gov/faqs/why-glacier-ice-blue :
“Glacier ice is blue because the red (long wavelengths) part of white light is absorbed by ice and the blue (short wavelengths) light is transmitted and scattered. The longer the path light travels in ice, the more blue it appears.”
The ending reminds of those penguins from a few weeks ago.
I invented kayaking.
Holy crap. Gotta be a couple frightened turtles in that water.
Best water ride ever.
I’d be more worried about that snow ceiling across the gap than the 60′ drop. I know I’m gonna pop up from the drop, but it would be curtains if that ceiling decided to collape!
