A Not So Tender Moment – IOTW Report

A Not So Tender Moment

An Australian woman thought she caught a remarkable image of a grieving male kangaroo cradling the head of its mate.  The pictures  were picked up and flashed around the world.

Turns out, it wasn’t such a touching moment after all.

  1. Kangaroos can be really mean fuckers. Yeah, they’re cute and all but life isn’t a Disney cartoon where little birdies hold your laundry on the line with their cute little talons.

Go over to youtube and type “Kangaroo Fight” and watch these things beating the crap out of each other over mating issues. I don’t feel the least bit bad that Australians eat these things, I even had a Roo burger when I visited there about 10 years ago–the restaurant called it “The Hopper” making fun of Burger King’s Whopper

  2. I actually got upset when I saw that on Facebook.
I’m glad people are finding out that Kangaroos are assholes. Both the male and female.

It’s all awww and how cuuuute until one of those 7 foot monsters is kicking you in the face and eating your kidney.

  3. I was visiting Sydney a few years ago and stopped in a small neighborhood pub for a beer. The locals introduced me to Roo on a pizza. It tasted pretty good. I think they as plentiful, if not more so, than squirrels and deer in the Southeast.

  4. I read the whole heartbreaking story in the New York Post this morning by Sophia Rosenbaum. A real tearjerker. “It was a pretty special thing. He was just mourning the loss of his mate.”
“Even after the doe took her last breath, the mate refused to leave.” Sniff.
    Then I came here.
