A Second American Civil War Wouldn’t Take Very Long

We had a discussion last summer about how a Second Civil War would go for the two sides. With California openly defying federal law and the clamor to disarm the populace, because of the acts of a few deranged individuals, the subject has popped up again.

Retired Army Colonel Kurt Schlichter reviews the two possible scenarios (A Democrat controlled and a Republican controlled federal government) and how each would turn out badly for one side. More

  1. Well written article and none of the scenarios seem far-fetched. Like Different Tim I prefer to sit this one out, too. But I love my country and I grieve for what is happening to it because of the leftists. I will be a three percenter.

  2. We’d need to set-up a roadblock on I-5 at Siskiyou Summit to keep all the dickless progs from running North; take your crazy somewhere else, we’re all filled up here.

  3. The only chance the left has is if a bunch of men declare they will sit this one out. I might not be as useful as I was when I was young, but I’m damn sure not sitting it out. Neither is mrs6pak.

  4. I’m probably in the minority here, but I don’t see the ‘Succession Scenario’ in regards to ‘Red’ states … it’s possible, but probably only if the Federal government overrides the Posse Comitatus Act & actually starts military occupation of States threatening to leave.
and one, or two M-1 tanks can quickly ruin a towns whole howdy-doody day … molotov cocktails & AR-15’s ain’t gonna cut it.

  5. Molon Labe, no doubt you are right, if it was a Tiananmen Square type of fight we would be lost. I’m thinking we would have plenty of military and law enforcement help. We would have to have it.

  6. There will be no, absolutely no, chance of another American “civil war”. The nature of a “civil” war, as opposed to all the other declared and undeclared wars, is the populace, the people, the “civilians”, agreeing to disagree. And, as disagreements with government, declared and undeclared, are always fatal, we call the resultant “negotiations” a war.

None of The Party’s members want to agree to disagree on allowing the populace, the people, the “civilians”, their “right” (stop laughing!) of self-determination. Any bad behavior will be nothing different than style, of voter intimidation (some like to call it “suppression”) we see every election. Maybe the Republicans will, finally, say “The people have spoken.” — and now, we will outlaw the Democratic Party (maybe we’ll call them the Populist Party) — set up lifetime stipends for our favorite vote killers (“Hey Mr. Mugabe! How you bin?”), and get back to looting… I mean “governing”, this fine land. Maybe the Democrats will, finally, say “The people have spoken.” — and now, we will outlaw the Republican Party (maybe we’ll call them the Populist Party) — set up lifetime stipends for our favorite vote killers (“Hey Mr. Zuma! How you bin?”), and get back to governing… I mean “looting”, this fine land.

Any, absolutely any, attempt to bring the populace, the people, the “civilians”, into the outcome, ends The United States. That may be a war of liberation. But even without genocide on a scale no one interested in saving the survivors is mentally capable of undertaking, there will be no interest in claiming the old throne, with all it’s old appurtenances.

They would head up Hwy 395 and into Oregon or Hwy 1. Shut down all major freeways/rails so nothing gets into the coastal cities. Close the ports down, water, and power. Everything is now a JIT economy (just in time), it would end quickly and badly for the Democrats/liberals. Don’t forget, 60% of the youth today would not qualify for the military physically, none of them could carry a 50# back pack. They’ve been dumbed down and would cower at the sight of the militia head their way. They know not what they are asking for. JMHO.

  8. I’m just saying that it would take MASSIVE organizational secrecy (& in this day & age, nigh impossible on some levels; no phone, no text, no internet, nothing traceable … I’m sure just typing this & posting it I’m being monitored somewhere for possible subversion) to be able to stage what amounts to a coup. individual states, particularly Texas, could possibly do it. but a region-wide coordinated effort? maybe. if a few other states would somehow guarantee Texas’ back & succeed within a very short time frame, before the feds could mobilize a response … it’s possible … but this ain’t the US fleet steaming down to Charleston to save Fort Sumpter, with troops having to march for days through hostile territory … things happen very quickly, in real time, these days

(specifically talking red state succession here)

  10. It wouldn’t take much for Northern California to take over unarmed Southern California. Inland Southern California would be on our side. The largest armed force we would face would be LA SWAT. They only practice out to 100 yards. I think we got em.

  11. Most of the fighting age young men in California would discover it’s a lot harder when real bullets come back at you.
Those that know, I figure would be on the other side of the miscreants.
Why do you think the Democrats hate for the military to vote?

Wouldn’t that be like closing the barn door after the horses got out? They’re already here, look how they’ve infested Eugene Salem and Portlandia!
