A Trillion Here, A Trillion There, Pretty Soon You’re Talking Health Care

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) estimate that spending on health care hit $3.2 trillion last year.  A third of all spending on medical care is done by our government.

Andy Slavitt, the Acting Administrator for the CMS tried to put a positive spin on the out of control cost, “As millions more Americans have obtained health insurance, per-person cost growth remains at historically modest levels.”

  1. People can’t go to the doctor anymore, it costs too much. Sure you’ll go for a checkup (you’re allowed that) or something catastophic. It’s the deductible that creates the urge to just live with something non life threatening.

A friend was just telling me about his hemorrhoids, not that I wanted to hear about them. But he can’t do anything about it because he may as well have no insurance because his deductible is higher than the cost of the procedure.

  2. $3.2 T? Economy better served to put $9000 bucks in everyone’s pocket so they can choose what kind of liquor and black market drugs they need. The end result is death and it doesn’t care about health care.

  3. “A third of all spending on medical care is done by our government.”

Duh…..What the fuck is wrong with this scenario??
Until the voter realizes that ‘government IS the problem….very little will be done to put this country back on the right track.
