According to the Left, If You Are a Recipient of Low-Income Housing You Are Black

The president tweeted –

“I am happy to inform all of the people living their Suburban Lifestyle Dream that you will no longer be bothered or financially hurt by having low income housing built in your neighborhood…
..Your housing prices will go up based on the market, and crime will go down. I have rescinded the Obama-Biden AFFH Rule. Enjoy!”

“Vile, despicable, racist,” Diane Yentel, president of the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC), tweeted in response.

~~~~~~~
So, a few things at play here.
When leftists think of low-income housing, they immediately think of black people.
DNC chair Tome Perez said this was an attempt to bring back Jim Crow laws!!
Really? Are there no white people with low-incomes?
This reminds me of this Biden gaffe —> Joe Biden Says ‘Poor Kids’ Are Just as Bright as ‘White Kids’
This is problematic. This is the racism. Trump is not being racist. He is rescinding the federal government’s power to come into your area and build low-income housing, devastating your investment.
Low-income people, no matter what the color, seem to foment crime, litter, oddball hours, drug use, violence, loitering and public intoxication. Is Tom Perez, or Joe Biden, or any of the critics of Trump’s rollback, including Diane Yentel, willing to erect low income housing across the street from them?
No.
So, spare me the outrage.
  1. …meh. They wrecked TWO neighborhoods I’ve lived in with Section 8 housing, no multi-unit dwellings necessary.
    …I remember a shiny new apartment complex in my fire district that had several multi-unit dwellings, and Government came in and told them they had to Section 8 so many units.
    So they gave them a building across a street from an absolutely identical building that differed in no way but its tenants.
    We were in the Section 8 buiding all the time for assaults, rapes, fires ranging from stove top to sets in the hallways to mattresses, parking shelters knocked down from people trying to skip even what little rent Section 8 required of them, severe water damage in lower apartments by departing tenents in higher apartments who actually stole copper wiring and pipe on their way out, car fires set by vengeful baby mommas, electrical fires from urchins opening external building junction boxes and throwing things in them for a laugh, and drug runs, drug runs, DRUG RUNS, definitely a proving ground for Narcan though they usually mixed their pleasures so that ALONE was mostly insufficient, and, of course, labor runs as a new fatherless ward of the State arrived (thank GOD I never had to deliver, we were always faster than the baby in MY case…the list was ENDLESS. Needless to say that, despite the numerous fires I NEVER heard a fire alarm because the batteries were ALWAYS missing, and that’s the “tenant responsibility” part…
    …meanwhile, in the market-rate twin building across the street there were no more than the usual minor medical runs for diabetes and chest pains and such, no fire runs, and the only runs related to crime were when someone ventured over from the other building or assaulted a market-rate tenant in the parking lot.
    Two identical buildings. Two different tenent types. Starkly different outcomes.
    …of course the market-rate tenents eventually got tired of this and left, so the whole place was ruined.
    You just can’t give someone something and expect them to care about it.
    You can’t change people by giving them a place.
    And you can’t stack poor people who drink.
    …all of this 30 years before Obama, too, proving that it’s not the place that makes the people, but the people that make the place, and always HAS been…
  2. …oh, and many of the female tenants were very, very White althogh the same could not be said of their apparently absentee fathered children, to speak to the main point of the article, if that helps illuminate the situation on the ground there any…there did seem to be a large number of black adult males around as well, althogh of those I transported after one incident or another, few that we took from that address gave it as their address…
  3. Trump doesn’t help himself when he says things like this. All he had to say was we have stopped the federal government from being able to come into your neighborhoods and tell you what kind of housing you have to build. Housing and zoning will be determined by the people elected in each community.
  4. It’s clear the hatred and contempt they have for the middle class with these kind of programs.
    We vote for politicians to manage public affairs not to direct every aspect of our lives as they see fit.
  5. Arby,
    Maybe where you are, but I previously worked for the agency that assisted putting people into Section 8 housing – 99% were unmarried, had several children and no income. However, I do believe seniors should be given the same sort of preference (housing, food stamps) as those who have never/will never work a day in their life. So, yeah, around here…Slut Huts.
