[Washoe County Sheriff Darin] Balaam also described how the accident involving the “Mission: Impossible” actor happened. Per Balaam, a personal vehicle of Renner’s, which was being driven by a family member, became stuck [at Renner’s home outside of Reno, NV]. Renner subsequently retrieved his PistenBully, a 14,000-pound snowcat.

After successfully towing his own vehicle out of his driveway, Renner got out of the snowcat, and the massive snow groomer started to roll. “In an effort to stop the rolling PistenBully, Mr. Renner attempted to get back into the driver’s seat,” Balaam said. “Based on our investigation, it’s at this point Mr. Renner is run over by the PistenBully.” Uncover

We would call a machine like that a trail groomer around these parts. – Dr Tar

  1. Disclaimer- We’ve all done stupid stuff that could of killed myself or others.
One of my earlier ones in my marriage was going to Catalina in my new old boat with my wife with 4 friends and a guy that was our insurance man for the boat. I had no knowledge of the sea and it’s hazards, no radio, didn’t check the weather then got hit by a storm on the way back pushing us off course by the huge swells 15 miles or more.

  2. Recall that Christopher Reeve (Superman) suffered a broken neck and lifetime quadriplegia after being thrown by a horse which balked at a jump. Reeve was not familiar with the horse and was not a highly skilled horseman.
