Last night I searched on the Internet for a list of Dallas cops who had been killed in the line of duty. I scrolled through it, and found a name I remembered: J. D. Tippitt.
Yup. Officer Tippitt was the officer killed by Lee Harvey Oswald as he resisted arrest following the assassination of President Kennedy.
Everyone knows who Lee Harvey Oswald is. Very few people could name J. D. Tippitt, however. I think it’s just a sad law of Nature.

Identify the race of all 911 callers and prioritize them by color. “Sorry we can’t send white officers into your neighborhood because you’ll try to kill them, and there are no African American officers available at this time. We will send the first available black officer as soon as possible.
Thanks for calling the Dallas area 911 call center and remember, this is what you wanted. Sorry about your friend being shot, hopefully he won’t bleed out before your black help arrives.”
