A friend of mine from high school became a homicide detective and later worked on cold cases.
Now that he is retired, he travels around the world — not to fancy resorts, but to where the people live. He has many friends in many countries. I think it is his way of keeping his demons at bay. He helped a girl in the Philippines go to nursing school.
