The man whose name and photo were connected to online racist death threats against a Calgary school board trustee candidate says not only did he not do it, but he dated the woman he’s accused of targeting.
Now, Calgary police confirm their hate crimes unit is no longer investigating the comments Shawn Street allegedly made to Ward 3 and 4 school trustee candidate Nimra Amjad back in August.
“I did not do this, I had nothing to do with this in any way shape or form,” said Street, who was fired from his job following the media attention and public outrage around the story.
…when the investigator asked Amjad for further information, it “was not immediately provided and the complaint was then withdrawn.”
“Investigators are respecting the wishes of the complainant and the case has now been closed,” said CPS in a written statement.
If hate crimes are so common, how come they have to keep making them up?™
Why the hell aren’t CPS investigating Ms. Amjad for filing a false complaint? Calgary needs a whole new slate of city councillers, Mayor and Police Chief.
As scr said, why is it that the investigation stops when the charges are shown to be a hoax? These fake charges will not stop as long as the people making them can do so with impunity.
In other words it is open season on the reputations and lives of innocent white people.
Did he get his job back with back pay and a huge “I’m sorry we believed a hoax” bonus?
Why the hell are they “respecting the wishes of the complainant”? She should be prosecuted.
So, the guy loses his fucking job over a false hate crime complaint, because it was assumed to be true based solely on his identity group… and that’s not a fucking hate crime?!!!
