Arizona Solar One LLC was recently accessed a $1.5 million fine for violations of air quality regulations at its Solana Generating Station in Gila Bend.
So much for “clean energy.”

OMG now the un-elected unapproved by Congress new and loose cannon EPA is shaking down their pet clean renewable energy.
1.5 million for community outreach!
Kill it with fire.
Was the state agency that levied the fine I believe. Probably relating to backup generator reporting and testing. States be funny about that shit with big generators.
…According to the department, the violations included failure to conduct required performance tests, removal of emissions control equipment without approval and allowing emissions above permitted limits….
So apparently, the solar aspect had to be augmented with diesel???
What D W G said. Although there is still the outside chance that smoke from burning birds was the offending emission.
Big stinking pile of dead birds…??
Thirdtwin, Health dept. violations too: leaving fried birds on a dirty surface.
A little known secret of the “green energy” plants is that they have a conventional fossil fuel “mirror facility” to pick up the load when the sun doesn’t shine or the wind doesn’t blow. I suspect this is the target of the ARB’s action. The solution seems obvious to me. Put a leash on the ARB and tear down the solar cells, uproot the fans and turn what’ll burn into feedstock until you get the pipeline for natural gas from the Bakken Shale built. The effin’ capacity is already there. The wonder (if they’ll work) gizmos are just window dressing. That window, as it were, will have a much better view without all that crap littering the countryside. Hell, many, many of the ones in CA are just windmilling and generating nothing since they don’t work and aren’t able to be economically maintained and are too expensive to tear down. But they can be seen from the freeways. Keeps the H’wood types smug and curious proles from asking uncomfortable questions. It’s all just warts on the real energy industry. Time to end the subsidies and let nature take its course. What made us great, or allowed us to be, was cheap, reliable abundant energy. Big fans, solar ovens and panels ain’t it. Billions and billions spent a/o cronied away and decades gone by and we’re reaping a big 2-4% from alt-energy at megabucks per megawatt. Past time for FLTR until we get fusion harnessed and facilities up and working. Energy problems end. Right there.
You can’t make this shit up…LMAO.
Profuse apologies, interposed letters. My post above should read LFTR (liquid fluorine thorium reactor).
Holy cow, look at how far the pollution spreads… No WONDER my allergies and headaches have been so much worse lately. Ugh. 🙁
