Clean and safe streets, and efficient infrastructure and school system, and a proactive police department that will actually arrest the bad guys along with the DA that knows what his job is, everything else is pretty much bullshit. I live in Tacoma #141 and city government here is an unmitigated scandal and a disgrace. FWIW, when I show up at a dog and pony show that was advertised as a public meeting or public outreach the elected and appointed officials quietly vamoose themselves via the side or rear door pronto.
