Bruce Lee Died From Lack of Sweat?

Bruce Lee famously died July 20, 1973. Ruled “Death by misadventure” it was thought his mysterious death was due to an allergic reaction to a tranquilizer contained in an analgesic given to him for a headache.

Author Bruce Polly has done extensive research into Lee’s life and the circumstances leading up to his death. Polly theorizes that it wasn’t drugs, but the lack of sweat that killed Bruce Lee. Apparently the budding movie icon had his sweat glands removed from his arm pits so he won’t sweat up his t-shirts so badly on screen. Without that extra bit of natural cooling, the theory goes, Lee overheated during a summer day in Hong Kong and died later that evening from heat stroke.  More

  1. I’ve used Mitchem’s deodorant/anti-antiperspirant for years. I don’t sweat, for days, and I’m still living.

  2. I sweat profusely, I’m not fat, I’m just hot. This time of year is always a problem, take a shower or sweat it out then take a shower? I dunno, because if I take a shower, nothing physical is getting done around here. I can soak a shirt inside of 30 minutes. Winter, no different. Get all bundled up to tackle snow at -15, 30 minutes later I’m soaked. So I stop for a bit, maybe take something off, then I’m freezing!

  3. @old_oaks – sounds like you’re my Doppelganger. I don’t care how cold it is. Any prolonged activity and I’m sweating bullets. I hate hot weather.

Do you realize how much mind bleach it’s going to take to erase THAT mental image
