Match #8
Alison Krauss and Robert Plant versus Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly
Alison Krauss and Robert Plant
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly
I vote for Allison.
Alison Kraus and Robert Plant hands down, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly suck both as actors and as musicians.
I was impressed with John C. Reilly’s music in, “Walk Hard”. I didn’t know Will Ferrel could sing (or do anything without stripping to his underwear).
Is there any question?
I heard Krauss and Plant sing last year at the New Orleans Jazz Festival, may have been this song. I was very underwhelmed. I love Krauss’ voice in ‘Down to the River to Pray’, and I like Plant’s singing with Zeppelin, but they just felt flat. I moved on (there are a dozen simultaneous musical performers) and found a fantastic and lively instrumental group which made up for their sluggish performance.
I’d say BFH rigged this match though!
That was an unusual match up. I voted for Krauss and Plant.
@ Doug Wakeman,
LOL. I’m with you brother! Ferrel is so over the top I can’t stand him. How are R and the critters?
FJB
I’m really looking forward to the Yoko Ono/ Chuck Berry duet. Actually, Yoko harmonizing with anyone would be something.
Crackerbaby! We are both doing very well. We have lost quite a few furry friends since we saw you. But we have gotten some new ones too.
This choice is ridiculous.
We are halfway there. There will be 16 matches, then past winners go head to head.
RE: Robert Plant
I was always of the opinion that you could have turned Yoko Ono into a rock superstar if you had paired her up with Jimmy Page, John Bonham and John Paul Jones .. so I was never a big fan of Robert Plant
But then again, I was 16 when “Stairway To Heaven” became the most overhyped, overplayed song in the history of rock n roll .. so that may have affected my opinion of Plant
Ferrell and Reilly sing about as good as John Belushi and Dan Akroyd: amateurs.
