Carjacking suspect unable to steal car because of stick shift

KSAT: SAN ANTONIO – A car with a manual transmission proved to be too difficult for a carjacking suspect, according to San Antonio police.

They said the suspect, who stole the car at knifepoint early Friday morning, was not able to drive the car from the scene on the city’s West Side.

The car owner told police that the suspect forced him to drive him to a location in the 200 block of Mickel John Street.

  1. Stick shifts are more fun, get better mileage, are more reliable, and require more concentration so in my opinion are safer.

    This is just one more advantage lol.

  2. True story: I took my 5-speed to a VEIP station in MD, and the guy passed it cuz he didn’t know how to drive it.

  3. If you want to see high humor, watch a youngster try to drive my truck. Manual steering and brakes also.
    Took it to get aligned, the guy said he needed to drive it onto the rack.
    Broke a sweat trying to steer it, gave up and let me do it.
    When I was young, even women could drive cars with manual steering and brakes.
