For this week’s edition we not only revisited the ever relevant topic of gun control, but we decided to mix things up by taking the very students we discussed the matter with to the gun range to learn the basics of firearm safety, shooting and the process of actually purchasing a gun.-

Now that they have seen the process that the average, hard-working, tax-paying, law-abiding citizen goes thru, they should go on to Step 2 in the Hood, where they get to see how Tyrone gets a gun and uses it!
Final exam: Please explain exactly what laws and how even more laws are going to impact Tyrone’s world?
A gun is just a tool – you must have the “will” and the training to use it. When I was young and beautiful (1977), I was almost raped twice in a 24 hour period while traveling in Barcelona. I “kneed” the guys, stomped on their instep and calves, kicked them and “ran like hell”. One of the guys was actually the hotel clerk who entered my bedroom. As a woman, you must always be situationally aware and have an exit plan. The hotel clerK, I just kneed and stomped on and pushed him out of the door. I think he got the idea that I was not interested. I did not speak Spanish (only English and French), so could not complain to hotel management.

I thought the comment about CCW being 6x times less likely to commit crimes even when compared to off-duty officers was an interesting tidbit.

Steve has amazing patience while dealing with those from the other side. He doesn’t denigrate or mock the target people, he just shows them what they’re doing or believing is wrong.
We (I) should take a lesson from him.
I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t have a gun.
We have a Ladies Range Day at the club we belong to that gives the participants the chance to shoot a variety of firearms at all kinds of targets. Good public relations for the club while promoting gun safety and sport shooting. Even when they miss I don’t see many frownie faces.
Went today to the rifle range with some friends and got to fire an M-1 and some other older military firearms. While I wouldn’t want to get hit with a 223 round from my AR, I REALLY wouldn’t want to get hit with a round from an M-1.
I find shooting steel really helps hook new shooters. That instant feed back of the “Ping” get’s them excited and a feeling of accomplishment.
