China Caught Hacking US VPN, Responds By Declaring U.S. “Biggest Empire of Hacking”

At least two groups of China-linked hackers have spent months using a previously undisclosed vulnerability in American virtual private networking devices to spy on the U.S. defense industry, researchers and the devices’ manufacturer said Tuesday.

Utah-based IT company Ivanti said in a statement the hackers took advantage of the flaw in its Pulse Connect Secure suite to break into the systems of “a very limited number of customers.” More

  1. You can always be hacked if someone is willing to put sufficient resources into it.

    But making yourself private at a level that requires CIA level resources to hack serves to protect almost every normal person, their data, and their privacy.

  2. They were saying on OANN this morning the Chinese were looking over geology reports on possible oil reserves. Our energy companies do the prospecting work and the Chinese come in behind them and under bid their extraction proposals. I don’t know if that was related to this particular hack or previous ones.

  3. I work for a defense contractor using Pulse Secure ID to work remotely. Our system was down for two days. Afterwards we were warned about this happening to other contractors by IT that was putting in new defenses.
