China’s Huawei Charged With Stealing Design For Robot Arm

Yesterday, American prosecutors unsealed a damning indictment of China’s Hauwei.
The telecom giant is accused of targeting T-Mobile smart phone testing robot nicknamed “Tappy.” The robot has what is described as a “mechanical finger” that allows it to test for flaws in the smart phone’s design. The charges describe how Hauwei went to such extremes to acquire knowledge of the robot that “a Huawei employee entered a T-Mobile testing lab, put a proprietary robot arm into his laptop bag, and walked out.” More

Other charges in the indictment specify how the Chinese telecom manufacturer and service provider sought loans while hiding it’s operations in Iran, attempting to circumvent U.S. sanctions against the sponsor of terrorism. More

Huawei released an official statement today indicating “disappointed to learn of the charges brought against the company today”.  More

  1. @B_B – Funny you should mention that. I just read an article how the Chicoms built an “unauthorized” version of a Russian Naval fighter that has a propensity to crash. Too heavy for the short carrier take-off.
    Damn the bad luck….

Take a look at their latest fighter. It’s a dead ringer for our F35.

I’ve been machining parts for 30 plus years for anything from the Semi Conductor Capital Equipment market to Military Primes. I have some stories.

    > Why should we continue cutting our own throats?

Millions of throats slit mean millions in somebody else’s pockets. Not really an “our” group of people. But we be theirs.

And anyone who disagrees is a communist socialist! Free Markets™ are Freedom™!
