Community Prayers Needed – IOTW Report

Community Prayers Needed

Good afternoon Fur,

My oldest son Zackery is in the VA hospital in Cleveland. He has been sick for about a week and a half or more.

I took him to the VA emergency room(40 miles one way)during the weekend. He was diagnosed with Covid-19 and strep throat. They gave him Motrin, and amoxicillin and sent him home. I took him back less than 48 hours later. They gave him Tylenol and sent him home.

I took him back Wednesday morning. They admitted him with double pneumonia. They have him on steroids, and remdesivir. His oxygen levels were coming back up and doing better last night.

Today a nurse called me to inform me he has gotten worse. They moved him to ICU and are going to try to force more oxygen into him. If that doesn’t work, a pressurized mask. But, she said he will more than likely end up on a ventilator.

She also told me the disease control (?) has been brought in, and they are looking at giving him some clinical trial drugs. I wasn’t nervous at all until I spoke with the nurse today.

I have five kids. Dad has to look like the strong everything’s-gonna-be-alright guy.

I would greatly appreciate you asking the troops to pray for him.

He is a 25 year old Marine veteran. He is my oldest son. I almost lost him once when he was an infant, and it haunts me to this day.

My youngest daughter, and I also have Covid, but not the issues he is dealing with. He is very very sick. He needs all the prayers he can get.

  2. Thank You Lord for the glorious creation You have bestowed upon us.
Be with our friend and his family. Be with the medical team who is caring for this young man.
Keep this young man strong and restore his health. He has pledged his life to this country. We need young men such as this to weather the storms ahead.
Please Lord, bring peace and comfort to his family. Let them be comforted by Your grace and mercy.
    Amen

  3. The power of prayer can be a great healer! Hang in there Zachery!

Jethro’s link to America’s Front Line Doctors is good advice. Even if you are healthy they will prescribe HCQ or Ivermectin so you will have it on hand if the need arises.

  4. …My heart goes out to you Shake and Bake. I almost lost my son on a couple of occasions and that is difficult, especially waiting helplessly on God.

But God is ever there, we just have to trust Him to act in His time as I’m sure you well know. With 5 children, I imagine your knees are worn out.

I also know that “strong one” bit. It’s quite an act to be chill and strong to keep your family calm and focused on prayer instead of worry, and to go break down later when no one sees you. It takes some doing, and God bless you that you can keep that brave face, but don’t forget to vent later, of only on your own or to your Lord, as we are only human and you are allowed to have feelings too.

Don’t keep them down forever. God will help you if you call.

But we are here to pray Our Father to heal your son. Prayer can change things, as the Bible tells us.

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
    James 5:16

And never forget that He is your Father, and your son’s Father as well. He loves His children, including the two of you.

    Let us pray.

Dear Lord, we stand before you today for one in critical need, one who’s a protector of us all and who has made and fulfilled oaths to You and this Nation, and who you have seen safely through many hazards and dangers. Dear Lord we ask you as you tell us to in Your word to act upon this precious life that You created, that you hear the prayer of this father who calls upon Your mighty name and asks others to turn to You for Your succor, that You may walk around this young man’s bedside, visit every cell in his body with healing, guide the minds and the hands of his appointed physicians that they may first do no harm, then do Your work to bring Your healing to him. Just as it seems the medicine of Man is at an impasse is when we know You perform Your miracles, making Your sign upon the sick that Man may know it is Your healing and give You the glory, always.

And Lord, please touch this young man’s family and freinds, all those that know him and love him and wish him well, that they may know that You have the matter well in hand and are prepared to deliver the healing as only You can. Touch them with calm that they may wait patiently until they see Your glory writ large on their friend, their brother, their son, and Your son in Christ as well.

And Lord, I ask a special blessing on this Father that calls for these prayers. He asks nothing for himself but I have stood in his place, know the fear, the anger, the doubt, the pain, the helplessness, and even the self-recriminations one can go through when forced to stand and wait as a child they raised and protected struggles without them in the fringes of life, and can’t even seek the comfort of others as he must be the comforter himself. Please Lord send this man Your comforting Spirit to guard and guide and calm him, put people in his way to help him through even as you did me, and let him know that no matter the outcome that all will be well with his son as he is in Your loving embrace always. He has come before us all to glorify You and ask public prayer in faith, hoping, expecting, counting on Your mercy, and I add my voice as a father to this father’s voice and many others here, that you as the Father of us all may show us a mighty move for this young man.

And I ask this all in the merciful name of Jesus,
    Amen.

    God Bless,
    SNS

  6. I’ll tell you what Shake N Bake, from
Personal experience after the passing of my mother last month.

There are no kinder, supportive and comforting people than the people on this blog. We wouldn’t know each other if we encountered one another on the street.
But this a fellowship that’s hard to explain.

  10. O God, the strength of the weak and the comfort of sufferers: Mercifully, accept our prayers, and grant to your servant the help of your power, that his sickness may be turned into health, and sorrow into joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

  11. Shake and Bake, praying for Zackery, you and your family.

Lord Jesus, please protect Zackery as he is struggling with this virus. Give his healthcare workers wisdom and the strength to do the right thing by their patient and give him the proper drugs known to cure this virus in spite of what our government tells them. Show your loving kindness to the family as they are seeking your power to heal his weakened body. Thank you, Jesus, for your mighty hand of providence. Amen

  12. Lord, give this guy a chance.
You can take one from me to give to him.

Aside, I hope they diagnosed him correctly, not just calling it Covid, cause that would be convenient.

  13. Meaning of the name Zachery: “the Lord has remembered”

The Lord has never forgotten Zachery, may His Grace, Mercy, Light and Love cover Zachery and provide strength and healing.

May the Lord’s work at the Cleveland VA bring Faith to other Veterans and their families who need medical attention.

    Semper Fi, Zackery

  15. Thank each and every one of you. I don’t have the words in my vocabulary, nor the ability to articulate said words in a manor that would convey to each and everyone of you how touching it is. Even though most of you almost never see my name, or may have never seen it pop up in the comments, i have been around for a long long time. So I’m not just some random guy, I’m one of you. Thank you all. Thank you for taking the time to post this Fur. Please keep us in your prayers. God Bless you all.
