Cousin Itt from ‘The Addams Family’ Dies at 84

THR:

He also played a robot on ‘Buck Rogers in the 25th Century’ and a villain battling Sam Spade Jr. in ‘The Black Bird.’

Felix Silla, who worked inside a body-length hairpiece, behind a pair of sunglasses and underneath a bowler hat in his guise as the mumbling Cousin Itt on the 1960s ABC comedy The Addams Family, has died. He was 84.

Silla, a longtime Las Vegas resident, died Friday after a battle with pancreatic cancer, his friend Gil Gerard, his co-star on the 1979-81 NBC series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, reported on Twitter.

Silla’s face went unseen on The Addams Family, as the robot sidekick Twiki on Buck Rogers and when he was a hang-gliding Ewok in Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi (1983).

And in a notable role where he could actually be recognized, the Italian actor and stuntman shaved his head to portray the maniacal villain Litvak opposite George Segal as Sam Spade Jr. in The Maltese Falcon sequel The Black Bird (1975). more

  1. Takes a lot of veggies to make good soup and its a Lot of lesser known to make the shows. I enjoyed his skills and roles. Thanks to him and God bless his family.

  2. Buck Rogers sometimes made me cringe, but I watched it more often than not. A big part of its entertainment value was that dumb, overly cute and acutely sassy robot Twiki.

RIP Mr. Silla, and thanks for all the grins. Biddibiddibiddi.

Erin Gray in tight shiny jumpsuits. That was the only reason to watch Buck Rogers.

I miss women that looked that…

Cardi B. could make a billy goat puke WITH her clothes on.

  4. Adams Family was much funnier than the current Shit Show that is “The Connors” or the pathetic failed re-boots of Murphy Brown Shit Stain, and Will and lack of Grace.

Not a laugh to be found anywhere.

  5. Wow, thanks for letting us all know. Always wondered about him (wasn’t sure if it was a man back then) as an actor but could never find out. Not until the internet and I probably just forgot to look it up. Very interesting how a “little” guy like that is so well know in different circles. God rest is soul!

    God Bless us all!

The one that gets me is the Big Bang Theory…..wife watches reruns constantly. They got a laugh track that laughs at every line. So phony. I listen and most of the time conclude it’s not very funny.
