Of course, snapping it with a bolt cutter is simpler yet. But having a lock this easy to crack is probably not good.
The only thing less secure was Hillary’s server.

Turns out my gold and silver is not as secure as I thought.
Is that the same lock they’re using to protect the Constitution??
SOB
Guess I am going to the hardware store
I have opened many a lock with a hammer.
I was surprised how easy Locks are opened with a Hammer…Not even
a psycho swing….Most Construction Areas have the Screws visible
on the Hasp anyway…Locks are for honest People.
I like the old twist it off with a 2 foot pipe wrench method. I just got a used generator that came with a lock and short length of chain and no key. My battery operated dremel zipped it right off.
Bolt cutters and such are quick and effective, but using them warns whoever has something locked that it has been opened.
Sometimes, you don’t want whoever locked it up to know someone got into it.
many years ago, I friend phoned who was ‘driving truck’ and decided to visit, as he was passing nearby. He had a trailer full of shopping carts, and didn’t want to try bringing it up into the mountains, so we decided he’d leave it ‘down on the flats’ in a parking lot and come up to the house in the tractor only. He didn’t have a lock for the trailer, nor did I, but I found a friend who did have a spare lock, so we set off to town to meet up. At the trailer, my friend asked for the lock, which he placed and clicked closed. He then asked for the key. My other friend then said ‘I don’t have a key- I thought you just wanted a lock.’ I thought there was going to be a murder.

Fastest result I ever saw from a lawyer.

Learned long ago that locks are only good to keep
honest men honest. They won’t stop a thief.
Back in 1988 I saw a guy on a construction
job take 2 same same Estwing carpenters’ hammers
and hit the sides of a Master lock at precisely
the same time and it “popped” open.We used to weld
a 1/4″ steel plate “box” around the lock.Made it difficult to get any type of tool in there…
OH BTW= Locks only keep out honest people.
Bobcat got it – security measures keep the randomly dishonest a little more honest.
A determined thief is going to get in eventually.
Remember also, that a lock is only as good as the hasp it’s secured to.
