I find it hilarious that other states national guardsmen were in DC, considering DC has its own national guardsmen. I can personally attest that in 2003 the DC national guard was ordered to active duty to deploy to Iraq, and they were so terrible that they were sent home before they left US soil. They never made it overseas. Puerto Rico had terrible guardsmen, but they were able to deploy. Maybe we should give statehood to Puerto Rico and scrap all of DC except the federal triangle.
