Halfway across the globe
And we’re standing on new ground
Screaming ‘cross the waves
You can’t hear a sound
There’s no fair trials, no trade, no liberties
No tea
We’ve colonized America; we won’t stand for tyranny,
Oh king
And it’s too late to apologize
It’s too late
I said it’s too late to apologize
It’s too late
We’ve paid your foolish tax, read the acts
And they just won’t do
We want to make it clear, we believe this much is true
All men were created with certain
Unalienable rights
Among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit
Of happiness
And it’s too late to apologize
It’s too late
I said It’s too late to apologize
It’s too late
I said it’s too late to apologize, yeah
It’s too late
I said it’s too late to apologize, yeah
Halfway across the globe
And we’re standing on new ground
George III, also known as “German George” was more comfortable in German than English.
His translators must have been kept busy, translating English to German, and German to English. One has to wonder how much was lost in translation?
From a long gone TV show
SALUTE ! To Claudia !
The patriots of 1776 must be spinning in their graves at about 6000rpm.
Happy Independence Day, everyone. It’s not over yet. We’ve got eight years to prepare for whatever the left has in store for us after the Trump presidency. For now, let’s enjoy our turn. MAGA!
One of my favorite videos. I’ve long wondered why Soomo states it was a satirical production.
This song deserves it’s own thread ! ( I just posted this on some whinging Pomme’s (pronounced win ging ) attack on the USA

I just watched The Great American Fourth Of July by Jean Shepherd from the PBS Playhouse in 1982. There is a full hr. version of it on Youtube. It’s one of my 4th of July traditions and it’s still as good as when I first watched it in 1962. And Too Late To Apologize as well, love that video. Happy Independence Day everyone in this the greatest and freest country on Earth.
1982 not 1962 is when I first watched it.
The Battle Of New Orleans by Johnny Horton was originally written by Jimmy Driftwood. His original version is just as good or better than Johnny Horton’s. I’m a huge Jimmy Driftwood fan if you can’t tell.
bcatten,
What a song, the minute it started all the words came back to me.I knew that when I was about 7 yrs old.My girlfriend & her sisters would play it an we sang and marched to it.
