Declined to press charges?

Newser-

An Oklahoma nanny decided to quit on the spot after her employers declined her request for a raise—but when they wouldn’t give her her final paycheck, since it wasn’t due until the following day, she allegedly held their baby hostage. “We have … I don’t even know how to describe it. Maybe a possible ransom situation,” the baby’s father said in a call to the Logan County Sheriff’s office, per KOCO News 5. “Our nanny has possession of our baby and is threatening not to bring her home unless we pay her a check that’s not due until tomorrow. I don’t know what to do, she’s irate.” Police say the baby was ultimately returned without harm, and the family declined to press charges.

I’m pretty sure the cops could have pressed charges without the parents say so.

  1. “…..unless we pay her a check that’s not due until tomorrow.” REALLY!!! Why do we allow these dumbasses procreation rights? I am sick and tired of the drivel that makes the “news” today. “.. I don’t know what to do, she’s irate.” Fookin’ retard! just no idea what the fook to do huh? Dodgammit! I hate people more every day……

  2. It’s always difficult for me to feel sympathy for people who outsource child care. Just from the few details above, it seems the nanny was a perfect match for the couple: all 3 adults are petty and self-righteous and think everything can be bought.

  3. Am I the only one who feels sympathy for a worker who deserves her earned pay?
I know, she should’ve hired a $200/hr attorney instead of ‘kidnapping’ the precious little diaper-filler.
I hate many people too. obama, the Clintons and the media mainstreamed utter stupidity.

  4. I don’t care what you’re pissed off about, you don’t hold somebody’s baby hostage waiting for cash whether it’s rightfully yours or ransom. And if that’s what was going on, the cops should have arrested her for that.

So what if the check wasn’t due til tomorrow? What if they gave it to her and it didn’t clear on the day she quit? Then what? She breaks in and kidnaps the baby again?

  5. Oklahoma. Odds are 1000 to 1 the nanny is an illegal, probably being paid sub-minimum wage, and idiot (no doubt liberal) parents didn’t want to see the beaner kidnapper get deported. No good guys in this one. When you fire someone you give them their final check. When you get screwed out of your wages, you don’t kidnap a kid. Cops should charge the kidnapper and charge the parents for hiring an illegal.

  6. So, if I have this right the nanny after being refused a raise quit her job on the spot. She then demanded a check immediately or would not produce the child. That’s kidnapping. The parents should not have had any say in whether charges are brought against the nanny and the cops should have arrested her immediately for kidnapping or endangering the welfare of a child.
