Deez Betel Nuts – IOTW Report

Deez Betel Nuts

CNN – Ling Ling, 20, stands by the side of a highway on the outskirts of Taipei.

The top she wears is tight, and the transparent miniskirt she’s wearing reveals a tattoo on her hip. She’s waiting for truck drivers or working men to stop and buy her goods.
In most other cities, it might be assumed those “goods” were sexual services.
But not here.
Ling Ling sells betel nuts.
“The more beautiful you are, the more money you can make,” she says. “That’s why I dress like this.”
Ling Ling prepares betel nuts behind a full-height transparent window in Taipei.

  1. I had beer nuts once. I cut back on the PBR and it cleared right up.

OBTW. Why is it I get a bullshit download for some phony Firefox update every time I come here to read something?? You folks have had some annoying advertising over the years, but this one is getting particularly tiresome.

  2. Have you ever tried emailing me with ad concerns instead of disparaging us in the comments, as if I’m intentionally doing something malicious to make your life miserable?
Everyone’s advertising experience here is different. I cannot keep track of all of them because I use ONE PLATFORM, ONE BROWSER, ONE DEVICE – and I’m sure it’s not exactly the same as yours in the exact same region of the country.

I have no idea what platform you are on, what device you are using, nothing.
So simply complaining and disparaging us in the comments does not help.

  3. Uh oh. Sorry to come off as if validating the disparagement.

I’m on an iPad right now. Safari browser, nothing special, and there haven’t been any issues with pop-ups, crashes, or the like for quite some time. Ditto for the Blackberry, with its built-in browser. Whatever changes y’all made a while ago worked great. It’s on Windows w/firefox that I use ghostery, and it’s not so much for here, but others like the Daily Caller ot Daily Mail. IME, those two are, very trying, performance-wise.

  4. Rosalind,
    That wasn’t for you.
    Don’t sweat it.
I talk to Chieftain all the time. Why does a concern like that have to be broadcast in the forum rather than dealt with with me?
It’s not like we don’t talk. We do.

And if we’re talking about mobile ads it is very difficult to track down these scumbags because the network is so, so area specific. I need an url, a screenshot, something in order to put in a ticket to have them blocked.

  5. Mr. Hat,
I use Opera and have never had any kind of problem.
(with ads or whatever – not no problems as in No Problems like with disease, deaths, victories, defeats, cut fingers, goose bites, ticks, taxes … &c.)
    Never.
Thank you for your wonderful site.

    izlamo delenda est …

  6. @BFH: I once ran a site and experienced stuff like this. Yes, he should have taken it offline the same way you should have. Tough love sucks, yet I think I have thicker skin these days thanks to exposure to folks like you. And sometimes the master needs a lesson from the students.
