In a modern history class it is always emphasized that, when talking about ‘bad’ things Whites have done in history, they were White.
But when we lern [sic] about the numerous, almost countless wonderful things Whites have done, it is never pointed out that these people were White.
This is an obvious, and never discussed, ridiculous tilt in the way race is presented in the classroom. The left has decided that if monetary reparations are not forthcoming, psychological reparations will have to suffice, and they are creating a toxic atmosphere.
Yet when we learn about anything important done by a black person in history, it is always pointed out repeatedly that they were black. For example when we learn about how George Washington carver [sic] was the first n****r smart enough to open a peanut.
Inelegant, angry and dismissive of George Washington Carver’s contributions, but, again, it’s a valid point (racial slur aside.)
The cloying way every accomplishment by a black person is celebrated, no matter how insignificant, seems a little like we’re cheering at the Special Olympics. I can remember looking at my black friends in class and wondering how they must feel when we got to the same old “5 black guys the teachers must talk about” portion of the curriculum.
Am I saying this kid is a philosopher? No. He’s a murdering idiot. But even an idiot can stumble upon some points worth discussing.
Actually, there are parts of his manifesto when he seems sympathetic to blacks who have to endure patronizing white people. I agree with the guy. The soft-bigotry of low expectations is more prevalent today than at any other point in my lifetime, and the left are the worst perpetrators.
His manifesto also says … the Trayvon Martin case “truly awakened me”

I see your point. I know I would feel completely insulted if people act surprised that I can do things they take for granted others can do. I cannot fathom how it is confidence building to look down on someone and then praise them for any accomplishment.

He did say some things that sounded like they came from a normal person. But the guy is still a nutcase and a confused racist. They mentioned he had a black friend. I wonder what meds they had him on.

I’m wondering if we can justify call him a racist at all? It wasn’t as if he was plotting the destruction of every black person on the planet. He did have black friends but did he ever once rant about himself being better than they were because he was white?

I’m having this very same discussion on Facebook with a relative. She is a liberal and 100% certain this was racially motivated. Period. No other talk allowed. Stop talking. Shut up. He was a racist because he was white. Typical liberal.
And if this guy was on medication like anti-depressants, I want to know if he stopped or if something changed. The reason is simple: if he was on meds and did NOT kill anyone, but if his meds changed and THEN he killed people, we have a another contributing factor. Was he racist? Yeah, read what he wrote. He did have black friends so he couldn’t be THAT racist, since he confided his plans to his black friend. However, that does not preclude racism. It may be that while on medication he was able to function somewhat normally but once off meds or taking different meds and doses, he became his manifesto. Witness Ted Kaczynski and his environmentally-motivated manifesto. The difference between Al Gore and Ted Kaczynski is that Al doesn’t have any explosives — that we know of.
What we have is people forming an opinion based upon superficial press coverage from the progressive media. And that is a recipe for disaster that is being stirred by an administration with no care as to consequences.
