Let’s hope he had one ticket to paradise.
Eddie Money — the ’70s and ’80s hitmaker known for “Take Me Home Tonight” and “Baby Hold On” — has died … TMZ has confirmed.
The singer died Friday following complications from stage 4 esophageal cancer. His family said, “The Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music.”
Eddie made the stunning revelation about his diagnosis during season 2 of his reality show, “Real Money.” As we reported … Eddie got the heartbreaking news late last year during a routine checkup with doctors.
His guest appearance on King of Queens was funny.

Uh oh. He had TWO tickets…
Cancer sucks. I know many people that have had a stage 4 diagnosis and not made it more than a few more months and it usually is very unpleasant.
He was always the opening performer every year for Pine Knob (now called DTE Energy Theater,) an outdoor music venue we have here in S.E. Mich. Always put on a great show. Got his ticket to Paradise I guess. RIP.
Enjoyed his work.
He did some commercials and didn’t seem to take himself too seriously.
Hope he had a good life.
RIP
izlamo delenda est …
I never heard him talk politics and it appears he was a support the troops classy guy. Sad loss.
Since you’re headed to Washington, where are your political leanings?
You know, one of the greatest rights I think we have is the right to vote. I do know that guy Chris Christie who closed the bridge down and got in a lot of trouble for it, well actually he was on a diet and he said he was misquoted. He was talking to his wife and told her to “close the fridge!” not “close the bridge!”
But really my heart goes out to the veterans and I would like to see everybody come home in one piece. I didn’t vote for Obama, but he’s got a nice wife and nice kids, and that’s one of the toughest jobs in the world so my heart goes out to the President.
Eddie Money plays the Hamilton in Washington, D.C. on Friday, March 21st. Tickets are still available at live.thehamiltondc.com.
