Ezra Klein asked Neil deGrasse Tyson if there was a liberal belief equivalent to conservative Climate Change Denial. (You know, something equally naive.) I’m confident Klein thought Tyson would just laugh and say no.
Tyson said, “GMOs, by a mile.”
Ezra went into his room, stared at his “Down With Monsanto” placards, leaked a tear, and then quickly scribbled “oh, yeah, well it’s NOT the same!!! Liberals haven’t legislated against GMOs. Whereas, righties have legislated against global warming. So conservatives are still bad, liberals gooder.” (Paraphrasing, but this was his point.)
Huh? I know Ezra is stupid, but I expected him to know the difference between legislating to ban something (GMO foods) and resisting legislation against banning something (coal).
Conservatives are not writing law to stop an industry, they are trying to prevent multiple industries, the economy, the country, from being destroyed (legislated against) by liberals because of their rabid belief that there may be tragedy ahead due to carbon.
This is habitual with Klein. He’s always self-satisfied with the stupidest of arguments. It’s painful as a conservative to watch nitwits cashing checks based on their “intellect.” That’s why I’m not linking to his moronic site. You’ll have to look it up yourself if you want to read the particulars.
Well said, except for one difference of opinion.
Liberals, at least those with law-making abilities, don’t give a flip about climate change/global warming/whatever it is this week. The slack-jawed followers may eat it up, but the ruling class just isn’t concerned. Al Gore give up his private jet? Nancy Pelosi move into a smaller house? Heavens no.
This is all about, once again, expanding the reach and power of Washington. The ability to control what you, dear taxpayer and little else, may and may not do. What industries may and may not exist. What products you may or may not buy. Where you may and may not go.
Klein and his ilk may carry the water, but our liberal betters in Washington don’t actually believe in anything except expanding their reach. Climate change is just a vehicle.
There’s hope – maybe next Tyson will challenge being just a token negro scientist dancing in minstrel shows for guilty white Democrats.
Intelligent people don’t believe in ANY of that stupid bullshit that’s bandied about by the socialist maggots who stir up shit for their statist purposes.
