Facebook blamed a technical glitch Saturday after the site mistranslated Burmese-to-English posts about Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Myanmar.
Xi’s name appeared in the English translation as “Mr. S—hole,” according to Agence France-Presse.
“We fixed the technical issue that caused incorrect translations from Burmese to English on Facebook,” a spokesman for the social networking giant said, according to AFP. “This should not have happened and we are taking steps to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
