I know a great guy who was pushed to make up his mind before he was really ready to do so. He was a priest for about 10 years and finally asked to be released. He still is a practicing, devout Catholic 15 years after he left the priesthood. and brightens up the lives of those he encounters.
There are a lot of priests who SHOULD leave, but won’t. Best of luck to him.
He felt trapped because his heart wasn’t in it.
God knows who really believes.
He’s being true to himself. He can’t be a good effective priest if his heart is no longer in it.
His reasons may be entirely different but the church should have allowed marriage from the get go. They’d certainly have a lot less problems than they do now.
I’m sure the present socialist Pope’s blasphemy had nothing to do with his decision.
It’s sad, like any breakup is, but I think he and Jesus can still be friends.
Good for him.
I wish more priests would leave the priesthood before their waywardness leads them astray.

My guess is he’s homosexual and is in love. If I’m right, I’ll give him credit for being honest enough to leave the priesthood.
