FBI tries to claw back credibility – and maybe get on Trump’s good side

American Thinker;

Suddenly, suddenly, the FBI isn’t so blasé about the doings of the Clinton Foundation, launching a new investigation into its apparently corrupt activities.  Might it really be a quest for the FBI’s lost credibility?

According to a report from John Solomon of The Hill:

The Justice Department has launched a new inquiry into whether the Clinton Foundation engaged in any pay-to-play politics or other illegal activities while Hillary Clinton served as [s]ecretary of [s]tate, law enforcement officials and a witness tell[] The Hill.

FBI agents from Little Rock, Ark., where the Foundation was started, have taken the lead in the investigation and have interviewed at least one witness in the last month, and law enforcement officials said additional activities are expected in coming weeks.

The officials, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, said the probe is examining whether the Clintons promised or performed any policy favors in return for largesse to their charitable efforts or whether donors made commitments of donations in hopes of securing government outcomes.

The probe may also examine whether any tax-exempt assets were converted for personal or political use and whether the Foundation complied with applicable tax laws, the officials said.

More than a year ago, author Peter Schweizer and the New York Times did a sort of joint investigation showing just how bad things were, with money flowing into the Clinton Foundation and favors flowing out of Hillary Clinton’s State Department, notably in the case of the Uranium One giveaway to the Russians.  The Times and Schweizer are hardly ideological coevals, so the fact that the two could work together and come to the same conclusion says something.  more here

  1. I know I get frustrated with many of the decisions made by management at my company and I sometimes question the integrity of certain “superiors”. Imagine being an honest DOJ employee who works there for the right reasons and seeing this playing out. I bet the whistle-blower laws do not apply in these organizations.

  2. Integrity or the lack of it, reflects the character of the individual and the organization.

    The DOJ and FBI, under Obama, lacked the character to do what was right and lawful. There were many individuals in DOJ and FBI were fully aware of the deceit and deception, yet remained silent.

    Integrity is easy to maintain, very difficult to recover without a complete change in culture.

    All persons in leadership and mid-management positions must be interviewed, on the record, to determine their knowledge of the illegal, immoral actions of their agency. Those aware of the illegal activities or the perceived impropriety of the actions who said nothing are complicit and are equally part of the problem.

    If integrity is to be returned to either agency, there must be individuals who consistently display the character of always standing for what is right regardless of the consequences.

    The rule of Law and accepted investigative policies and procedures must be adhered to in all circumstances, for the elite as well as the common man.

    Can Sessions be the man to do the job? I’ve been less than patient to find out. General Sessions, it’s time to bring out the long knives.

  3. The question is not did they play pay to play politics. The question is when did they not? For the last 10 years, Hillary never even tried to hide what she was doing. Just look at the Uranium One scandal. Even the NYT had to write a story on it because it was so brazen. The corruption inside the FBI and DoJ is the *sole* reason that bitch isn’t in federal lockup right now.
