Flying fish are my favorite. When we used to go out to sea out of San Diego we almost always had a large amount of them following us in the wake of the Kitty Hawk. They are amazing flying from one wave crest to another. Those and dolphins, who also followed in the wake of our huge aircraft carrier.
Claudia…..you are beautiful
Good work as always Ms. C.
Always a pleasure.
Thanks for posting!
I meant to say: Thanks for posting the Sunday Sanity!
Who knew sting rays did that?
Claudia, always a pleasure to see your posts.
Among all the crap that goes with mankind, it’s refreshing to see what the Earth is really about.
Those flying fish eat low flying hummingbirds who migrate to and from the Caribbean. Why the birds fly so low near the water surface is a mystery.
This is God smiling:

I’m with Lazlo on the Manta ray coming out of the water like that. I’ve spent a lot of time afloat in different parts of the world & seen many strange & wondrous things but have never seen a devil fish airborne. Great pic!
As always, Claudia – thnx.
How fun it would be to fly! Was out golfing the other day and we noticed a turkey buzzard slowly circling the area. No doubt looking for some dead critter it smelled. Buzzards are ugly – but they are so skilled at riding the air currents, they hardly ever flap their wings, the are beautiful in their flight skill. A couple of holes later, a red tail hawk came soaring past us. He too was riding the air currents, but at a much faster pace. Any way, it was just fun to see the contrast between the two, especially as the hawk flew very close to us so we got a real good look! :Thanks Claudia. Your post reminded me of a good memory! 🙂
Beware people. I tried this once and ended up in the hospital.
