Ghislaine Maxwell Gets 20 Years in Epstein Case

(NEWSER) – Federal prosecutors wanted 30 to 55 years, but Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to far fewer on Tuesday. The jet-setting socialite who once consorted with royals, presidents, and billionaires was sentenced to 20 years for helping the financier Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse underage girls. Defense attorneys wanted a five-year term. That prosecutors wouldn’t get their way was established prior to the sentence behind handed down: US District Judge Alison J. Nathan ruled that the federal sentencing guideline she would rely upon in sentencing the 60-year-old Maxwell was a range between 15 1/2 and 19 1/2 years in prison, reports the AP.

  1. She didn’t just procure underage girls for Jeffrey, but for politicians, celebrities, billionaires, and royalty, yet none of them where ever charged. Huh. That’s weird.

  2. Gizzie will start working on a squeal deal in three months, now that she knows there’s no other way to get out of the Twenty Year Stretch. Her new accommodations will be better now, but she wasn’t raised to be confined with the lower classes. Gizzie is a real lady. Just ask her siblings.

  3. 20 years for what?
Yeah… we all know what she was doing, but we also know her customers committed crimes as well… or are we supposed to believe that only her and a dead man (who didn’t kill himself) were the only ones involved??
My point is if no one else was charged and tried, this is more of a cover-up than justice!

  4. Nope. Not one of Epsteins high profiles that that visited his island regularly has been indicted. Quite the conundrum there. Is the CIA using it info to blackmail them into dancing to its tune?
