Glad to hear she’s not against blacks

Three City Council seats are up for grabs in Marysville, Mich., and five people are vying for them—though it’s unclear how well one contender will do after a racist remark she made at a Thursday night forum. The Times Herald reports the event ran smoothly at first, with a focus on the ways in which the city could improve on development, etc. Then came a question for the candidates on another topic: “Do you believe the diversity of our community needs to be looked at, and if so, should we be more aggressive in attracting foreign-born citizens?” The very first response, from candidate Jean Cramer, left the crowd stunned. “Keep Marysville a white community as much as possible,” said Cramer, who the Guardian notes only moved into town within the past decade; the other candidates are longtime residents.

Cramer talked to the paper after the forum, and she wasn’t apologetic. “[Hayman’s] family is in the wrong,” she said. “[A] husband and wife need to be the same race. Same thing with kids. … But as far as me being against blacks, no I’m not.”

IF YOU KEEP YOUR COMMUNITY CONSERVATIVE, INSTEAD OF WHITE, YOU’LL DO JUST FINE!

Communist Russia was all white, crazy lady. So was Nazi Germany.

Or a misplaced screwdriver to the neck getting the morning paper,
    Trayvon style

  2. And THIS isn’t racist, implying that there’s something wrong with white people, that if they’re in a majority, they must be diluted?

“Do you believe the diversity of our community needs to be looked at, and if so, should we be more aggressive in attracting foreign-born citizens?”

The question is obnoxious in the first place.

It’s time for EVERYONE to become “race”-blind. The entire notion of putting everyone into separate arbitrary categories is disgusting.

  3. I’m so sick of this diversity bullshit, I think I still have the right to free association. If I choose not to intermingle with people who’s cultural differences that I find distasteful or I’m otherwise not comfortable with that choice doesn’t make me anything other than selective. If it’s seen as hateful than tough shit.
I notice it’s only whites that are being held to a standard nobody else lives by. It’s nothing but a naked attempt to marginalize people for political control.

  4. Yes, Gin Blossom. Could you imagine: “Oh my goodness, there are just too many ________ [fill in the blank with anything but “white” or “men”] — we need to get some other kind of people here”.

  5. Look at the cities who have “diversity” now – Chicago, Baltimore and so on and think “gun shots and drugs!”

Think diversity in politics – Do you think our community needs diversity in political opinions and ideas?

  6. This is the town next to mine. Always been a nose in the air kind of city for my whole 60 years around here. Someone finally said it out loud and in public.

  7. “I may not approve of what you say; but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.”

Not so much of that, anymore.

    We should hush her up!

  8. gin blossom, I agree. Marysville, MI is northeast of Detroit. I wonder if they are being offered $$$ to be a “resettlement” for Middle East refugees?

  9. I’m not a racist, UNTIL some one claim be cause they’re _________, they deserve special privileges.
EQUAL RIGHTS, means regardless of your ____________, you shut the hell up and go to work.

(Please insert race, religion, gender dysmorphia of your choice.)

  10. “Only 2 things I can’t stand: bigots and ni&&ers.”

A “joke” from early 60s Mississippi.

“When does a black man become a ni&&er?”
    “When he leaves the room.”

    Another “joke” from 70s Maryland.

Just as governments tend to centralize, people tend to generalize.

If ONE white cop shoots ONE black dude in ONE black neighborhood the neighborhood will perceive injustice (and the media will exploit the “tragedy” for all they can squeeze out of it). Should only black guys be cops in black neighborhoods? Sounds segregationist, doesn’t it?

If ONE white guy is mugged by ONE black guy the white guy will forever equate mugging with black people as will most of his friends and family (and the media will ignore the “tragedy”).

    “Diversity” is bullshit.
    Assimilation works.

The racists keep beating on trashcan lids, screaming, and pointing out differences and diversities, real and imagined. Some really do believe in that “content of your character” idea more than that “color of your skin” bullshit.

  11. Diversity is fine until you find 7 different kinds of fasteners holding your car together. I won’t hold my breath until Haiti lands a man or whatever on the moon………….

  12. That broad has to be a Biden Democrat

Tim nailed it. Assimilation works… unless it’s TheBorg™

We need to get back to our great melting pot and jettison this racist diversity BS that is dividing our nation and putting us against each other

  13. No party affiliation given. I know the local pols are not always identified with a political party, but if she were GOP, we’d find out in the headline.
