  1. We (me, Penny & Ernie) are trying to avoid any prolonged exposure to the sun currently. I think itโ€™s trying to roast us, here in the Foothills! ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. The sun shines bright on all the creatures who need time to get ready to sleep the night away. This must be the time when dogs and cats plan their meals and think about their busy social calendars.

  3. There was lots of great sunshine and pure blue skies at the National Basin Rage in Moiese, Montana on Thursday when my daughter and I went on the 2-hr. driving tour on the Red Sleep Mtn. Drive to see the bison in the wild. When we were coming back down a very steep gravel rd. on the east side of the bison range, we saw a lot of bison including a very large bison just off the rd. sunning itself in a wallow that was probably too close for comfort when we drove by it. My daughter took a lot of pictures. We also went to Glacier Natl. Park on the West side of Glacier and took the Going to the sun tour on a free shuttle up to Logan Pass and spent a good part of the day up above 6500 feet amidst the glaciers and still lots of snow in July up there above the visitor center. It was a great day and great short road trip, Going to the sun road just opened for the season on Wednesday, it’s a very scary narrow drive, thank God for the shuttle I wouldn’t want to drive that even in my AWD Subaru station wagon. There were lots of people up there all enjoying a beautiful day in the mountains although it did rain when we got back down to entrance to the park in the afternoon. And it was a great drive home yesterday from Whitefish to Eureka and down Lake Koocanusa to Libby, Mt. and Bonners Ferry and Sandpoint, Idaho back to Spokane.

Sounds absolutely blissful! I’ve been to Spokane a few times when my sister lived there in the 80s. Drove through Coeur d’Alene, too. Beautiful. – Claudia
