We just recently had our old dachshund put down. She was. Katrina rescue. She must have been around 17 and was blind. Old gal had no quality of life.
So sorry for your loss Anony. They are family.
I haven’t had one but I find them to be difficult dogs compared to mutts.
Dachshunds and chihuahuas – why? I mean, besides scaring ankles.
A new customer had a Dachshund that lept up and grabbed my son at the thigh, Never broke skin and he was caught on the material of his pants. She had to grab him and pry open his mouth enough to get him free. Weird. Never happened before – not even a real bite from any dog before in the last 30 years.

I used to have a minerature named Honzy. He broke his back running out in the neighborhood. Was a tragic day. Hope we are reunited in Heaven.

Just gave my black lab a bath the other day. She doesn’t even like going outside when it’s raining. Must be part cat.
I always took my Datsun to the car wash…
We have one that looks similar to this doxie. I showed my daughter this vid. She immediately went on a rant about how our doxie is so stupid because she keeps her eyes open in the shower.
Yes, my doxies do shower, with my daughter. She puts on her swimsuit, grabs a dog and washes them in the tub and even runs the shower to rinse them. She doesn’t like that I just hold them up to the faucet to rinse, so she showers with them.
Labradors don’t like baths either. Payton (black lab) would get in the tub when asked and put his nose square in the corner until i told him it was over. LOL he was the BEST dog ever.
If it doesn’t like water it ain’t a lab.
I have a Doxie and a Chihuahua. They are so much fun!!!
