Governor Moonbeam In a Rare Moment of Lucidity

Asked about whether California would consider legalizing pot for recreational use, Jerry Brown said:

WAPO

{I worry about the} “tendency to go to extremes.”  After legalization, “if there’s advertising and legitimacy, how many people can get stoned and still have a great state or a great nation? The world’s pretty dangerous, very competitive. I think we need to stay alert, if not 24 hours a day, more than some of the potheads might be able to put together.”

Wow. Where did that come from? Is this an LSD flashback where he’s imagining he’s a responsible person?

  1. I doubt he’s ever imagined himself a responsible person … I think he’s trying to be a hip cutting edge contrarian.

Or he thought he was saying “Huh? Derp! Doogah doogah doogah! Walframzits!”

  2. the premise is that if weed were legalized, even MORE people would smoke pot in california. Dint think that was feasible.

As if ca. isnt run into the ground already.

  3. Don’t politician like Jerry Brown exist precisely because half the US electorate is stoned and brain dead? Brown must be stoned as well to alienate his base so much.
