WFB: The green energy industry is scrambling as Congress pushes forward with legislation that would impose costly tariffs on Chinese solar panels, a move that industry leaders say would cripple their business given their overwhelming reliance on cheap Chinese suppliers.
The House on Friday passed a bipartisan bill to restore tariffs on Chinese solar panels sold out of Southeast Asia, tariffs that President Joe Biden suspended last year in an attempt to “satisfy the demand for reliable and clean energy.” The legislation has already garnered support among some Senate Democrats, reflecting s significant possibility that the bill will become law.
For the green energy industry, that possibility marks a full-blown disaster.
China controls more than 80 percent of the world’s solar panel production, a figure that hasn’t waned as Biden spends hundreds of billions of dollars on green energy subsidies intended to give the United States the ability to “compete with China.” more

I happened to be telling this story to a friend a few days ago, seems apt.
I spent 2 weeks touring China with a group of mostly MBA students, 21 years ago. Great experience, although as my doctor friend warned me, ‘You will develop a cough after a few days. It will go away a week after you get back.’
We were in Chengdu, which is like the Denver of China geographically and with a huge population. We had a few hours to kill, so a few of the group decided to buy bicycles (about $20-30 each) at the department store. After successful negotiations they got their bikes – and the first stop was to the corner bike guy who fixed them so they were rideable. Yes, brand-new, in a major Chinese department store, and the pedals were bad, wheels were bad… I tried to ride one for a minute and it was barely doable due to the poor quality.
I often think of that when I think about the quality of Chinese goods.
“Cheap Chinese Goods”
That aren’t recyclable and will cause a huge environmental problem trying to dispose of them. (solar panels, batteries, windmill blades)
Green energy isn’t green.
Like ethanol, the only part that is green, is the money to the corporations and congress.
Green Energy Industry Admits It Needs Cheap Chinese Goods To Continue To Shovel Your Money Into Their Pockets
FIFY
No need to get in a rush to cover the country in solar panels. At the present rate of consumption the US already has 4 to 5 hundred years of unused solar power stored. We can continue to use that as we gently transition to the Stone Age living the left desires for us.
Also cheaply made Chinese goods doesn’t necessarily mean they’re cheap or “goods” either. Has anyone bought a pair of LeBron’s shoes lately?
Biden*: “…satisfy the demand for reliable and clean energy.”
Except solar is neither, Joe. The sun doesn’t always shine, but I wouldn’t expect you to remember that. Further, the manufacture and disposal of panels is not ecologically benign, but I wouldn’t expect you to care.
It is a goal to make all the naysayers and haters that refuse to admit that it all started in 1930s with a Psy Op, Big Oil, Hemp and Plastic Rope banker markets.
Eat That, Haters
The reason the Chinese “goods” are cheap is because they don’t have to pay attention to any of the labor or environmental laws domestic manufacturers do.
The Green Racket needs Chinese parts and a massive infusion of taxpayer dollars. Never forget that
The green agenda being dependent on China explains a lot.
China also controls the lithium battery industry.
A larger deposit of the rare earth minerals needed to build the batteries has been found in Maine but the left wing commies in the state govt won’t allow the land owners to mine it.
They are China’s bi**h along with Pedo Joe and company
