Gun Shop Owner Confronts Obama: Why Take Guns From ‘Good Guys?’

RestoringLiberty: A gun shop owner confronted President Obama at a town hall event Wednesday evening in Indiana, asking why the president wants more gun-control laws that ultimately hurt “the good guys.”

Doug Rhude’s question came after the televised portion of the PBS town hall in Elkhart, Ind., had ended.

“Knowing that we apply common sense to other issues in our society, specifically like holding irresponsible people accountable for their actions when they drink and drive and kill somebody, and we do that without restricting control of cars and cells phones to the rest of us, the good guys,” said Rhude. “Why then do you and Hillary want to control and restrict and limit gun manufacturers, gun owners and responsible use of guns and ammunition to the rest of us, the good guys, instead of holding the bad guys accountable for their actions?”  More

  1. Told my kids all I want for Father’s Day is powder, primers, and projectiles. PPP. Or PPPhuckU0bama!

I shot some rounds today that I had hand loaded back in 1992. Flattened every primer. The ones I loaded the next year turned out to be very accurate with good pressure. Just a tad less 2400 powder.

There have been more guns sold since I have been president than just about any time in U.S. history.

What a fucking idiot, he’s bragging about that?

  2. “How Come?” Because it’s about control; not ‘gun control,’ but control of the proles. They want unfettered control of the people to do as they will; they do not care about lives/safety…they care about power over those they deem their inferiors.

  3. “If you are for gun control, then you are not against guns, because the guns will be needed to disarm people. So it’s not that you are anti-gun. You’ll need the police’s guns to take away other people’s guns. So you are very pro-gun, you just believe that only the Government (which is, of course, so reliable, honest, moral and virtuous) should be allowed to have guns. There is no such thing as gun control. There is only centralizing gun ownership in the hands of a small, political elite and their minions.” – Stefan Molyneux

  4. Mexico has only one authorized gun store. It is in Mexico City and is known as the Directorate of Arms and Munitions Sales. It is operated by the Army and staffed by soldiers. It is extremely difficult to purchase a firearm in Mexico and after jumping through numerous hoops you can only purchase one small caliber weapon… and a single box of ammo. On average the Directorate sells less than 6500 firearms a year for the entire country.

Yeah, gun control has worked real well in Mexico.

  5. So basically, if we follow that argument, someone on a no fly list (for which there is no due process) should lose any right the government determines. First and foremost their second amendment right. Seeing how efficient TSA is with their 95% failure rate what could possibly go wrong with the government administering a no fly list.

  6. Obama sez “he’s knows about some ISIL folks that are on the do not fly list, but yet they can but guns legally”…c’mon man, blow the smoke up your own ass…If they’re on the do not fly list, then fly their asses out of the country….

  7. IT’s NOT about GUN CONTROL!!! That’s what everyone says, but it’s actually about PEOPLE CONTROL and you can NOT achieve that if the people are armed and able to resist!

  8. @ Unruly Refugee,

I pick up my Ruger Precision Rifle on the 7th. Gonna top it off with a Vortex Razor 4.5-27×56.

    Giggity, giggity, gig-git-ty!

    SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!

Resist taking it for a boat ride. Guns seems to think they can swim, for some reason. All mine thought they were fish.

Nice rifle. Been watching prices of RPR Creedmore. The market for them is high at the moment. Real popular.
