An upcoming HBO Max series from Ava DuVernay will depict the United States in the grips of a second American Civil War, with the federal government battling secessionist forces called the Free State armies.

Deadline reported Tuesday that DMZ has received a pilot order from HBO Max, the upcoming streaming service from Warner Media. The show, based on the DC Comics title of the same name that debuted in 2005 takes place in what was formerly New York but is now a demilitarized zone.

  4. Would like to see it compared to the novels by Kurt Schlichter which depict the US in a divided state and the consequences thereof. My guess is they will be polar opposites.

  5. who are they going to cast as the bad guys? big government? trump is a nazi, nazis are bad, the only way the federal government could keep a rebellion down would be, like, well, they way it did before… Sherman’s March to the sea.

  6. Sounds like a great idea, but since it’s HBO you know who the bad guys will be. The next civil war will have something in common with the last. It will be elitist urbans vs. socialist slaves. I’m a native born southerner and I know only 2% of the southern population owned slaves. They also ‘owned’ the poor white tenant farmers and tradesmen. The 2%ers now are the media, politicians and the deep state, but the situation is the same.

Can’t even grocery shop anymore without KKK Nazis shouting death threats at her. According to her. She also claims she has to PAY for security. But according to the Governor of Virginia there has not be one complaint about grocery trips and Maxine in the DC VA area. No KKK at all. All clear on the Civil War front.

  9. The farthest North General Lee ever lead his Army was Gettysburg, PA. The rebels didn’t even make it to Harrisburg.

    Now HBO is doing a series where NYC is the demilitarized zone. That implies the rebels made it that far North and East. What exactly does the big government left even control anymore if NYC is the front line?
