Herd Immunity To COVID-19 May Be Closer Than We Think, New Studies Say

DailyWire: Herd immunity. You’ve heard the term — and you’re about to hear it a lot more.

Under herd immunity, a virus begins to wane — with spread dramatically reduced — because so many people have already had it and thus built up immunity.

And several new studies show that we may be moving toward herd immunity more quickly than previous research suggests. While some of the studies use small sample sizes and the findings are not definitive — and while Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, warns that even an effective coronavirus vaccine may not be enough to achieve herd immunity — the studies are at least promising.

“The prevalence of immunity to the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 may be much higher than previous research suggests according to an intriguing new study by researchers associated with Karolinska Institute in Sweden,” Reason magazine reported. “In addition, a new German study by researchers associated with the University Hospital Tübingen in Germany reports that people who have been previously infected with versions of the coronavirus that cause the common cold also have some immunity to the COVID-19 virus. If these reports stand up to further scrutiny, it would be very good news because they suggest that the pandemic could be over sooner and ultimately be less lethal than feared.” more

    But would anyone admit it?

It’s serving the4ir purposes well, so why would they? Too easy to fake the data that it isn’t over yet for them to be doing that.

  2. Hey, my Governor Dim Bulb told us that “masks are just pieces of cloth that we all have access to.”

    Hahahaha. He’s brilliant, isn’t he?

    Gott im Himmel!

  3. I’m waiting for the day that we in Texas have more cases than people. At this rate that might be in the next few weeks since they are counting everyone, every type of Covid and assuming anyone you’ve been in contact with for a week has it. Going to be like the voter rolls, larger than the actual population.

  4. The restrictions will continue regardless, because giving up, just throwing a mask on and going about one’s day is a great deal easier than fighting dozens of harpies blindly committed to their own shallow and baseless sense of virtue.

  5. Compare this to something we see all the time – the flu. No, not the Wuhan / Chinese kind. Between 16 and 66 million people contract it every year in the US, according to WebMD. According to the Johns Hopkins website (that pretty heat map), almost 2.8 million have contracted Covid-19 in the US.
Umm, why haven’t I seen this on any news report?

  6. Herd immunity aside, how many people actually know some one who has contracted the covid wuflu? I don’t know anyone who has.

And as a follow-up, how many know some one who has died from the covid wuflu. And finally, how old were they, and/or what underlying health issues did they have?

  7. My great aunt who was 95, had lost the will to live, had COPD and pneumonia, was in nursing home on hospice died in May. Covid was listed third on her death certificate. She was going to die regardless and frankly I have doubts she had it at all. I don’t even know a person that has had this.

  8. We are in the second wave.

The first wave happened too far ahead of the election to lock us in our homes!

I hope Trump makes the WHO pay dearly for this HOAX.

    Be prepared!

“Sir, In telling me that I should be wearing a mask to safeguard your own health you are confirming your own stupidity. Here you are, confronting and criticizing a perfect stranger. You know NOTHING about my mental stability, inclination to violence, or if I have inadequate anger management or even any inclination to manage my anger. It is clear that you are too stupid to properly compare and weigh risks.”
