FOX: Texas has been seeing a record surge in coronavirus cases in recent weeks, but Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said this week he will stop listening to Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious-disease specialist.
“Fauci said today that he’s concerned about states like Texas that skipped over certain things,” Patrick said during an appearance on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”
“He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. We haven’t skipped over anything. The only thing I’m skipping over is listening to him.”
Patrick said he took issue with comments Fauci made earlier in the day during a Senate hearing in which the member of President Trump’s Coronavirus Task Force suggested some states reopened too quickly and skipped White House guidelines in the process.
“He has been wrong every time on every issue,” Patrick added. “I don’t need his advice anymore.”
Patrick has previously defended Texas’ reopening, which was among the first in the country, FOX 4 Dallas reported. But Gov. Greg Abbott paused the state’s reopening plan last week due to a large surge of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations. He rolled back several openings and signed an executive order last Friday closing all bars, according to the station. more
Too bad Gov. Abbott doesn’t have the balls to stand up to what’s going on. Instead, Abbott is running towards the hills.
Which raises the question of why the States listen to the Federal Government for anything.

Abbott’s cave has Austin Mayor Adler out with a list of new orders, San Antonio is sending out emergency alerts to all residents to wear a mask or get a fine, and the most free place to be is in jail where the mask is optional.

My state is freaking out over the Increased “cases” (they haven’t made masks mandatory YET). I have written down THEIR numbers (which I know are inflated) every day that they have had a “Dashboard” and our mortality rate has dropped every day since the 13th of May (now factor in the delay in data being posted). We have had protests/riots all over our state and we have beaches.
My husband talked with his pulmonologist–we have no patients on ventilators.
Sigh, as we can again see, Fox is going with the mob. Who declared Fauci the “top infectious-disease specialist”? Regardless, glad to see a politician actually pushing back against him.
Haven’t noticed if every state with a beach hasn’t had an increase in actual symptomatic cases?

This is why I suggested the gov listen to his lt gov on an earlier post. The gov has a better man to make the calls on this virus. Dan Patrick is a solid guy who’d have made a better gov.
