‘I always tell people, the question of what you want to be when you grow up is one that you will eternally be answering. I’m still asking myself that question!’ Michelle told the magazine while sharing her advice for college-bound students like Gemma and Zaniya.

In less than a year, the Obamas will be leaving the White House, and the First Lady admitted that she doesn’t have any set plans for the future.

‘What am I going to do when I leave here? How do I want to impact the world? I’ve gotten used to the fact that I don’t have to know,’ she explained. ‘I’m always going to be discovering new parts of myself, and you’ll find that you will be too.’

Michelle revealed that she never though she would be First Lady, noting that when she was growing up, the notion that there would be an African-American president wasn’t even on the horizon.

  1. My favorite sentence in that whole spiel: “In less than a year, the Obamas will be leaving the White House,” though I don’t believe for a second she doesn’t have any future plans.

The sentence that will top that as my favorite will be in an article that says, “In less than a day, the Obamas will be leaving the White House.”

Then it will be supplanted by: “Yesterday the Obamas left the White House.”

Even better: “The Obamas have shifted residences to another planet.”

That one might be hard to top but if any of you can do it, please have at it.

  2. I want to know why she feels she must “impact” the world still? Pardon the vision of her ass-teroid crashing into the moon- but being FLOTUS wasn’t enough? What’s wrong with living a quiet good life away from the spotlight like the 99% of Americans they claim to respect so much?

  3. @Lisl – “In the dim light of their dome near Olympus Mons, Michelle Obama tragically mistook her husband and fellow Martian Pioneer Barack Obama for a chicken chimichanga and ate him. A short time later, Ms. Obama died of food poisoning.”

spell check chuckle: my idiot dictionary wants to change “chimichanga” to “Michiganite”
