I WAS WRONG ABOUT TRUMP – IOTW Report

I WAS WRONG ABOUT TRUMP

Blogger, Mr. Saddleburr, was never a big fan of Trump. He looked everywhere else to find our country’s leader. It took some time, but he now sees that leader was right there, out front, all along.

I Was Wrong About Trump

Like many people I was in the “Trump wasn’t my first choice” camp.  Initially I thought that Gov. Scott Walker was the better choice.  Then I thought that Ted Cruz was the better choice.  Or Dr. Ben Carson.  Or Carly Fiorina.

I liked Trump’s brazenness, brashness and bravado, but thought him to be simplistic, just like me after one too many bourbons.  I liked that Trump put border security into the center of the debate and his America First rhetoric.  But I didn’t like his smear tactics and name calling.  Additionally, his knowledge of some of the issues appeared very shallow.

But I’ve been warming to him since the convention, particularly because Trump has done what previous Republican candidates simply refused to do, which is to launch personal attacks against President Untouchable and Hillary Clinton.  Both John McCain and Mitt Romney played patty cake with Obama, afraid to expose the man’s nefarious political philosophy, to expose just ‘fundamental transformation’ really meant, and his dubious personal relationships with people like Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright.  America didn’t know who they were electing and that’s partly the fault of those candidates.  And of course the media.

But Trump goes there.  With gusto and bravado.  He’s a daring guy.  He’s exposing Clinton and her corruption for all too see.  Trump is telling America what their country will look like if she’s elected.

He’s also going over the heads of the media like Reagan did.

Which of the other Republican candidates would have had the vision (and the chutzpah) to not only have a meeting with the President of Mexico, a country that he has threatened to fence out at their expense, then hold a joint press conference in which he looked like the head of state himself?

Not Cruz.  Not Carson.  Not Bush.  Not….take your pick.

So, as this epic saga unfolds I’ve come to the conclusion that Republicans ended up with the better candidate.  It’s also a priceless bit of stagecraft that Trump continues to end his rallies with the Rolling Stones’ ………

You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometime you find
You get what you need

Trump is what America needs right now, a bold, fearless, sometimes careless and unscripted man like Trump right now.  – Mr. Saddleburr

  1. Congrats for maning up. Obviously you are not a Right Poop contributor. I’ve noticed the average amounts of comments at the Right Poop are WAY down. They still have their fanatics. I’m thinking that’s not enough to pay the bills. Really Freaken dumb ass business plan.

  2. I think he speaks for many of us. At first I wwas watching Trump, sort of out the corner of my eyes. I thought he’d flame out. As time went by, he made more and more sense. Last night in Phoenix was great. He just gets better and better. #Whereshillary

  3. BFH, I beleive you are sincere when you say that. Coming from someone that use to visit them at least twice a day, I’m not sorry. I mean really, how fing stupid are they? And it’s going to get worse. On top of that if Trump loses we will be hunting them down. Really, they need to pull there heads way out of their asses. Was that their Biz Plan? Jeez.

  4. First along I liked Scott Walker, Perry for second. I was intrigued by Trump, and liked his message, but he seemed a bit like he was just putting his toe in the water – not TOTALLY committed, if you know what I mean. So I was open to him, prepared to hope he did well, but thought he might decide that he didn’t have “enough” support and drop out early.
He was my Herman. (The runt in the litter that I always claimed because no one else would)
    Walker and Perry both dropped.
I then bided (sp?) my time and on January 21, 2016 I began to scope hotel rooms in and around DC. Against all odds I got two bookings at two nice places, at good rates, that had not yet locked and blocked that week.
I booked both for three prime days.
That is how certain I was that Trump would be nominated. I am just as certain that he will be elected.
See you all in DC, January 20, 2017!

  5. Grandeeme, that was a great idea. I wish i could join ya!

Bad_Brad, did you post at reichcoupe as bad brad? I used to go there daily also, but quit when i got banned.

  6. Charlie, no. Actually I’ve been banned so long I can’t remember what I was posting under. If you want to give them a good bitch slap once in a while you can probably post on their FB page. I light them up every once in a while when they post something so fing stupid it causes a brain cramp. It’s like dropping a little blood into a pool full of starving Piranha.

  7. @Big Fur, i dont feel particularly sorry for reichcoupe. Its a mystery to me why someone would purposely stab themselves in the back banning people by the hundreds. And I got banned. Me. Ol’ milquetoast Charlie. I mean if they couldnt handle me, can you imagine the shitfit they had over bad_brad?

  8. Oh it was over Trump. I never posted very much there. Actually I might post once a month at the Tree House and you lucky bastards get my spin on the world here. Hmm, I suddenly feel like I should apologize. Lol

  9. Charlie WalksonWater – It’s not a mystery. It’s probably arrogance and vanity on the part of whoever is running the blog.
That’s one of the big reasons I like this site. The few correspondences I’ve had with BFH tell me he is opinionated, but fair and objective. He also cares about running a good site. It makes a difference.

  10. Loose gun powder thrown on camp fire for the show:

Is it spelling or is it grammar? “Use” was spelled correctly. Just not technically the right word as it is.

    ruuuuns away quickly! lol

Side note: if picking on Brad for spelling and grammar is going to be anyone’s thing – you really need to get a life because he’s going to keep you busy! Just look for the message like decent people should. If you understand what’s being said and the word doesn’t change the message – fuggedaboutit.

Besides, when Brad spells everything correctly and throws a couple of two-dollar words in, I suspect someone is impersonating him.

Or he’s sober. One of the two. But mostly impersonation.

    😎

  11. Funny stat at Alexa about IOTWR: #4 !! lol

Which search keywords send traffic to this site?

    Keyword Percent of Search Traffic
    1. iotw 5.53%
    2. feral irishman 4.89%
    3. i own the world 4.04%
    4. marijuana stuffed inside coconuts 3.61%
    5. free inhabitant girl 2.30%

And I’ve been using “Coconuts filled with marijuana” as a tag for the bullpen. Need to refine it now. 😀
