ICE asking courts to deport DACA recipients

wgntv.com/ WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has begun asking immigration courts to deport some young adult immigrants who have remained in the U.S. under a program known as DACA.

“DACA recipients, while they’re supposed to be protected, we’re seeing they are actually being targeted in some cases,” Jose Munoz said.

Immigrant rights advocate Jose Munoz said several young people, known as “Dreamers” arrived in the country illegally as children.

He said reports surfaced in three states of Dreamers receiving deportation case notifications, despite their legal protections as DACA recipients.

“There’s some fear, there’s anxiety,” Munoz said. “Obviously there’s a lot of unknown.”

This is all happening as the Supreme Court is considering the fate of the DACA program.

Some DACA opponents applaud the fact that ICE is going after Dreamers. They believe it means the Trump administration expects a favorable ruling from the high court. more here

  1. People who entered the country under artificial means are worried about being deported. These are the same one’s who are illegals. Don’t let the door hit you in the rear on your way out. They are the same nationality as their fathers. Let them wait in Mexico until they figure it out!

  2. DACA – Deferred Action for Child Arrivals. Says nothing about amnesty, jumping queues for citizenship. Deferred Action means that action will be taken at a later time. That they do not like the action taken at this later time is immaterial. And BTW…… Did not Mister Obama freely admit that he lacked the authority to create DACA but he did it anyway?

  3. Now who believes Courts will comply with such a “request”? Heck, they’re more apt to sneak offenders out the back of the courthouse rather than risk having even one deported. I doubt immigration courts are anymore beholden to US citizens demands than criminal courts.

And let’s not kid ourselves if we think any member of congress (including the Rs) will stand for deporting the “protected ones”, even those with criminal records.

  4. They came here illegally and were allowed to stay here illegally by a corrupt government and court and now they don’t want to go! Boo Hoo, get the hell out and stay the hell out!
